    67 headlight parts.

I got a set of those insulator gaskets from Virginia Classic Mustang a year or two ago. I assume they still have them.

    Pertronix/stock tach/resistor wire help?

Many thanks...I'll give that a go when the 6 month old lets me!

    Pertronix/stock tach/resistor wire help?

I have previously installed a Pertronix (the first generation) Ignitor and a Flamethrower coil. That setup didn't like the resistor wire from the ignition switch, so I bypassed it. I would now like to install the factory tach that I acquired (not OE on my car) and had repaired and calibrated...

    Door Reassembly. On-car or off-car??

I did not have to realign mine, but I may have been lucky. I'd not put the fenders on (if you haven't already) until you get the doors together, just in case. It is a pain, but it's more tedium than anything else. Not rocket science, but a fair bit of trial and error. I actually did not use any...

    Door Reassembly. On-car or off-car??

Do it on the car. It's no easier either way, but hanging it will be when it's empty.

    1967 mustang grille

I'm working from memory but it's not too hard I don't think. It needs to go in before the wide and narrow grille opening moldings. I think that the grille itself will, using sheet metal screws and in some cases some rather specific retainers (available from most vendors), bolt to the metal...

Help w/ tape for door trim?

Putting the car back together after paint, and I need to replace the thin, black, double-sided foam tape that went between the door opening (along the roof) and the stainless (or chrome, I'm not looking at it right now) channel that the door opening weatherstrip sits in. Does anyone happen to...

    Running without a fan shroud?

For what it's worth, my '67 289 2bbl did not come with one, and I've never had any overheating problems (live in SC, it gets pretty warm in the summer!).

splashed gas in my eye, its watering like crazy, do i need to go to emergency????

Here's a thought...step away from the keyboard. Pick up telephone. Call the ER/your dr. and ask what you should do. Sorry for the sarcasm, but while I value the opinions and advice her about what to do with my car, my eyes are another matter...sorry ladies & gents!

    Gauge ideas?

I have swapped a tach dash into my '67, but I want the oil pressure gauge and ammeter back. I also want a very clean, stock looking interior. Has anyone done a spiffy install of accessory gauges that blends with the stock interior that could post a picture or two? I have a console, so under dash...

    Original Parts

Pony Carbs is a great resource for identifying the correct carb, and oh yeah, they'll sell you one too. I've seen some folks that don't like them but they set up a 2100 for me that has been great. Not cheap, but great.

4 valve Cleveland heads not 4 barrel

I'm just curious as to why someone would develop them for the Cleveland, which as has been pointed out flowed well anyway, instead of the Windsor. Seems like the W heads would have a much larger market these days, especially if they remained compatible with the 302. Man the short stroke engines...

WTF ? rust emitting gas bubbles under my bran new paint

Well you don't say who is doing the body and paint work but in general, all of the products being used should be from the same manufacturer and be designed to work together as a system, and applied by someone that knows what they are doing. Otherwise there is a pretty high risk of chemicals...

    Roof Rail molding question

I just yanked mine off for paint too. There's weatherstrip (readily available) a stainless channel or run for the stripping to rest in, and under that about a 1" wide, 1/8 inch thick double sided adhesive tape. I think that's what the question is about. I'm not sure where to find replacements...

mustang wreck - body work question

If the hinge is like my early '67 (and I think it is with a different bolk pattern) it just unbolts as an assembly from the pillar and the door without needing a spring compressor. Your call on the door, you have three options: fix what's there, skin the shell, or buy another door (used or...

mustang wreck - body work question

Yikes - tough break man but I feel your pain, mine has been "love tapped" a few times over the years. All that stuff on the outside bolts on, so that's easy to do with no welding. The tricky part is what can't see - if the radiator support, inner fenders, or frame is damaged then you may be...

    S.O.S.!!! Dead in the street!

No problem...just wait till it happens driving though a puddle and sputters out on you. The 5.0's had a wrap that went around the distributor to help prevent that. I use one on my '67.

    67 coupe - rear defogger install Q

I'll keep you in mind if I don't, but it's a simple trinkety looking thing that you could probably fab almost as easily.
