    Sticky: I6 to V8 conversion

revisiting this thread.... as far as your cost analysis goes. If I told you the amount I have into this car I would be embarrased and I don't even have the motor in it yet, I could buy 3 v8 cars at this point. for those thinking about it.... my suggestion would be..... think long and hard before...

    Cam gear question

look at the pic I attached. particularly the center of the cam gear. the cam is recessed in the hole, I was thinking it should be flush or even with the front of the cam gear. good call on the dowel pin, looks like I'll have to make one custom

Car spits/stumbles at low RPM under acceleration.

    Cam gear question

It's probably a simple question, but I want to make sure. Never dealt with timing gears before. With my cam gear the cam is not "flush" with the face of the gear? Is this an issue. People have told me its no problem, but I'm Leary about it. Also how important is it that the dowel rod protrudes...

    Brake lights staying on

well there is some adjustment, but it involves a file, when I replaced the rod from the pedal to the master, my brake lights wouldn't turn off, I filed the back end of the rod a bit and it loosened up the connection at the switch allowing it to turn off when releasing the pedal.

    1966 9 in rear end ??

You can have it narrowed, thats how I did mine, I'm a few months ahead of you doing the same project. I have my 289 sitting here 75% done and my suspension and rear end are all in. the rear end was a lot of work, I have a little over 2K into the rear end alone, but its a 9" narrowed to fit 15x8...
