Check out this VIDEO "56k warning"

Top Gear has to be the best motoring show on TV, and Clarkson is just so funny. I could go on for ages about the whole American cars in Europe thing, but this is a tech thread - and I own a Mustang! They liked the Monaro (Pontac GTO too...)

    ignition problems..

I had the same problem - I used a battery drill (lots of control) and an 8mm drill bit (or whatever crazy inch size is closest). Then drill carefully down the centre of the barrel. You might need to open it out afterwards with a 10mm bit. I suggest you order the replacement barrel first...

    Dash Knob Removal

Headlight: Turn knob to 'ON', press button on top of switch body (behind dash), and pull out. Bezel will then unscrew. Ignition: Turn key to ACC, insert a pin into the small hole and then turn anticlockwise (I think) to unscrew. The bezel is a bayonet fit into the switch, whcih you can...

That stuff looks sweet - Bet shipping to the Mother Country will be a killer - I've asked 'em for a quote.

    Drilling for the Emblems...

I'm not sure I want to drill the holes in my fenders for the new emblems - I want to grind the pins off the back, and stick 'em on with some double sided foam like they do on new cars. Anyone tried it, or got any comments? Anyone got a template for fitting them?

    New shoes, finally

I lurrrrve the 10 spoke Shelby wheels, and I also have a soft spot for the mini-lites, but I think they only really suit circuit racer type Mustangs. Can't wait to see some full car shots of those Shelby lookeylikeys.

Monte Carlo bar or no Monte Carlo bar?

A no brainer - put it back. Stiffness is good.:D

    Smoke and Carbon

To change the valve stem seals with the heads on is a bit of a ball ache, but I've seen it done by feeding string into the spark plug hole to fill the space, then turning the engine over by hand to TDC (or as far as the string will compress). You can now press down on the valve spring retainer...

Fun with +0mm offset Bullitt wheels

Yeah, 'banding' of wheels used to be common over here, but if done badly it is dangerous - how can you tell, as a buyer of a second hand wheel, or an annual inspector if it's been done right? If you've got confidence in the guy that's done it, and you don't have annual inspections, go for it!

Fun with +0mm offset Bullitt wheels

 You are allowed to do that? That is soooooooo illegal over here!

    H-Pipe placement

I posted a question on the subject of 'H' (and 'X') pipes which had some good replies, but it was lost in the server crash. Basically, if you want to find the best place to fit the H pipe, paint the facing sides of both pipes for a couple of feet back from the manifold/header connection. Run...

Best way to pinpoint a 'miss'

Dead simple, this one - with the engine running, pull each plug lead off and replace it in turn, the one that doesn't affect the running is the one with a misfire. You might want to wear some decent rubber gloves just in case - the current is low, but the Voltage is high.

    Neutral Safety and 4spd in a 69?

Sounds like you've got the wiring for an automatic trans car - you might also have a cable to the console shifter indicator lamp. Just short it out, as manual trans cars don't need 'em. It really narks me in modern cars where you have various interlocks to 'defeat' before you can start the...

    The SN65 project car

Yeah, thanks guys for letting us be a part of it. An excellent car, just gorgeous. Keep us posted as to how you get on a the local Ford dealers when you take her in for an oil-change! Oh yeah, and let us know what your next project will be. :SNSign:

    Bullitt Exhaust...

Sorry to break it to you man, but if you want that sound, you gotta buy yourself a GT40. They overdubbed it. Sounds cool though, doesn't it?

    A bargain at only $170, 000 AUD

Not sure I get the way this thread is going...a couple of weeks ago, there was a thread with loads of, "Yeeha! We like burnouts and guns". Now we're getting lots grief about a guy that builds a car specifically for this burnout contest, doing the mother of all burnouts, on a racetrack, to the...

    A wiring revolution

Isn't the new Mustang wired in this way? It's a data bus that goes round the car, and addressable stuff hangs off it? Cool, pricey, and impossible to fix when it goes wrong...
