I ordered a set of 4ohm subs and received the 8ohm model, does it matter?

Title says it all. I ordered two kicker comp 05C104s and after being jerked around by the vendor I received two 05C108s three weeks later. I've been trying to contact the vendor but they have not responded. I plan to run them bridged at 2ohm. Does it matter that they are rated 8ohm instead...

    Glowing Manifold...what do you think?

This is the second time its happened and the first was back in spring. I pulled over at night and my manifold was glowing orange - engine was ticking badly. Temp guage was only about an 1/8th of the way up. I let it sit for a few minutes and drove home without too much trouble. Someone suggested...

The never ending list of problems...this time it's the heater.

Heh... Start your car and let it run a while before you get in and go. My car takes about 10-15 minutes to warm up when its 20-30*F My whole cooling (heating in this case) system was replaced during the summer. Make sure your thermostat isn't stuck open and that your heater hoses...

For less than $120 what should I do about subs?

I have an 88' coupe. I'm willing to spend up to $120 for my sub/subs. (not including the amp) I found these for $100. 2x10" http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROCP110S42PAK I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get subs in the tiny trunk so I don't know if 12"s are much of an option? Sorry...

Fuel Pump not priming/Car not starting

Hm. I packed up every tool I thought I could possibly need and took another car out to the stang. Before I did anything I tried to start it and it was just the usual starter turning but not firing. Then as I was letting off the starter to give up it fires and runs. Seems to be doing...

Fuel Pump not priming/Car not starting

I did a search and went through a few pages but there is too much information that doesn't fit my scenario. Lets see... Car ran fine, drove to work. Tried to start it when I left and the starter cranks but the motor doesn't fire. I decided to move the key to the accessory position and...

Still messing with the oil pan - few questions

Hah :D A small amount of oil didn't make it in the hole and traveled along the valve cover to the back of the engine - dripping to the floor. The rear main seal is still leaking but it leaked from there before and I'm not going to worry about it. Its not a bad leak.

Still messing with the oil pan - few questions

Thanks for the reply. Its an '88 - I bought the gasket from partsamerica.com and their system said it was the right gasket so I don't think that is the problem. Felpro: OS34211R Also, the gasket seems to fit fine. What does it take to replace the rear main seal in this engine? I...

Still messing with the oil pan - few questions

Well Bogus I think you got me there. I got the pan back on without taking the steering rack off. Put everything back together... engine started fine, oil pressure good. I thought I had it despite what you said about the gasket. I didn't run it for long and there appears to be a puddle of oil...

    Cheap low buck N/A 2.3??

I'm not qualified to say but I highly doubt you would manage 150hp. And yes... I am saying "why not run a turbo"

Still messing with the oil pan - few questions

The fact this post was dated two weeks ago depresses me... I still do not have the thing running. I somehow managed to get the pan off but I cannot get it back on. My idea is to take the steering gear off but the bolts are tourqed really tight. I had someone come over to look and he was...

    1st ever tuneup - Opinions?

I've never been a fan of ramps. Walmart usually has a good deal for a jack/jackstand combo. You generally have more room to work with jackstands too. As for the Haynes manual, it does tell how to get TDC. To sum it up you take off the timing belt cover or the little rubber plug and the...

    Rear defrost

Yeah its pretty easy to find. Walmart has it too.

    Rear defrost

There are several "DIY" kits for that. Simply a metallic paste that you use to link the areas that are not connected.

    Heat

I would say your engine isn't getting hot enough to put out that much at the heater core. Check your temp gauge like red_lx said and if it stays low you should check to make sure your thermostat isn't stuck open.

    so i think its junk

That motivates me all the more to keep with my anti-rust project. Finally got around to it yesterday - prepping the underside and applying rust bullet.

    Heater Core

Its not a horrible job. I did it mostly by myself, just takes a while. The worst part I had was when you have to remove the lower bolt on the blower. Also make sure you replace the silicone.

    2.3L newby questions

I could be wrong of course but I'm pretty sure the cats don't smoke themselves. I think its possible the backpressure caused by a severely clogged cat can cause smoke. Are you sure the engine is smoking because of the cat? Might be worth checking before you take it. I don't know how hard it...
