How much does a spare set run?

    Home Made RAI... HOLY ****!!!

Didn't someone post an article awhile back about the physics of ram-air effects? If I recall correctly, the main conclusion was that the velocity of incoming air needed to get added power from such a set-up would necessitate speeds much faster than your average Mustang can travel in...

    Ford Racing Exhaust System???

There was a thread on this a few days ago that had the sound clip of the combo you've described. Should still be around. Otherwise, great system...OEM quality ( ), great fit, no drone and with the stock mid-pipe it's somewhere between stock and Flowmaster in volume; nice rumble...

    FRPP catback

The FRPP system is not the same as the stock system. The tubing is larger, as previously stated (though the inlets and outlets to the mufflers are the same size) and the mufflers are different than the stockers...they flow better. This from FRPP itself; I called them to talk about it before...

Cross drilled & slotted vs. just cross drilled

Be wary of cross-drilled rotors...if you plan on doing any braking-intensive motorsports (like open-track driving), they're not the ideal choice. The intense heat generated will quickly crack the discs around the holes. :( This is why few high-end performance cars sport them, with the...

    ford f srings

I believe all the FRPP springs are made by Eibach (many FRPP parts are simply "re-badged" aftermarket parts)...I don't know which ones correspond to which Eibach offerings though. As I understand it, FRPP "F" (and the convertible companion the "G") springs are actually made for the SN95, and...

Just wondering if anyone has done this...

That's how Ford made the early Fox-body convertibles...they sent coupes to an aftermarket place that chopped the top and installed the convertible top. That's why the Fox convertibles had such tremendous shake.

99+ FRPP Hood Pin Installation? Hood Pin Angle?

It seems the best way to deal with mounting the hood pins on the radiator cross-member on our cars to ensure enough height is: 1) Remove the hood bump-stops (or whatever they're called) and widen the holes a little bit. 2) Weld one of the hoodpin nuts to the frame over the hole. 3) The way...

Difference in 4.6 and 5.0 engines?

That's a good summation above...thanks! BTW, is the new 3.0 V6 that Ford is using in the 2005 V6 Mustang part of the "modular family"?

    Locking Gas Cap

Yep, it'll work just fine! It's a nice little piece. It would make sense from a manufacturing point-of-view that Ford wouldn't have tons of different gas tank/filler neck combintations for its vehicles.

    No Ford lock gas cap?

Actually, it's a Ford Motorcraft product, not Ford Motorsports (which is now called Ford Racing Performance Parts). That might explain the confusion. :) The locking cap is available on the web, but you should also be able to look up the part number on the motorcraft website. I can't...

    Engine noise at Startup

Not trying to pick a fight, but do have a question: isn't that the exact opposite of what that exhaustive filter study (off-hand, I can't recall the author, but it's been posted here often and I'm sure others know of what I speak) concluded. I thought Frams were the worst filters. Enlighten...

Is it possible to get engines from Ford Australia

Nah, just overnight parts from Japan...oh, wait...wrong car. :D There probably isn't a company that does this, at least not at any discount over buying directly from a Ford dealer Down Under. I can't imagine there'd be much demand, and the shipping costs would be very expensive. But if...

    hood pins???

It's threads like these that always make me again consider putting in the FRPP hoodpins I have. I love the old-school look, and am likewise worried about high-speed lift-offs. A note re closing the hood that might be of use. There is another way to get it closed without dropping it. Lower...

    Ford Racing M-5400-A

Ford Racing claims the B-springs are designed to work with the stock shocks/struts. While I'm sure that's true, I'd bet there's some truncation of the shock/strut life due to the lowering, just probably not that much.

    FRPP M5230M51 cat-back system

I bought my system from GEF. Came in a gigantic cardboard box with no padding at all. But that's how Ford ships 'em apparently, as under the shipping label was a label from FRPP to GEF. Mine was okay though, so I guess I got lucky...

    FRPP M5230M51 cat-back system

I have it and am quite happy with it. It's a nice step up from stock, without being too loud. I'd rate the sound volume half-way between stock and Flowmasters (though with your exhaust mods, I'd put it maybe 3/4 of the way, toward the Flowmaster side). Tone is nice: low and rumbly...

How to remove the emergency trunk release and key release? Please help...

You spend a lot of time in your trunk? :D I believe it is in fact mechanical (merely connects to the trunk lid release...pulling on it pulls the release catch open), so I'd say just cut the handle off you don't like it. N.B. plenty of high-end cars like MBs have these as well... Of...
