Anyone in here use/have used the FRPP M5230M51 cat-back system?

I like the fact that is Stainless Steel, made by ford, 2.5" piping with 3" tailpipes, and that it is only $260.00!

What is this comparable to, as far as sound and performance. Flowmasters?

The car already has FRPP shorty headers and a UPR Catalytic X-pipe. I dont wont anything obnoxious or cost $500.00, but I dont want it silent either. Currently I still have the Stock 96 Gt cat-back on it.

I have it and am quite happy with it.

It's a nice step up from stock, without being too loud. I'd rate the sound volume half-way between stock and Flowmasters (though with your exhaust mods, I'd put it maybe 3/4 of the way, toward the Flowmaster side). Tone is nice: low and rumbly. Quality is OEM (judge that one for yourself... :D ) and the fit is good.

Also, Ford told me that the mufflers are not the same as stock, but are special high-flow versions. Ford claims 7-10% better flow...what that translates to performance wise, I have no idea.

Overall it's a good system, esp. for the price. :nice:

I've used them 2 other times and everything worked out. Never can tell how things will arrive espcially since we know FEDEX and UPS treat packages oh so friendly.. lol

I bought my system from GEF. Came in a gigantic cardboard box with no padding at all. But that's how Ford ships 'em apparently, as under the shipping label was a label from FRPP to GEF.

Mine was okay though, so I guess I got lucky...

I've got it also and agree with John 324 in terms of the sound volume being between a flow kit and stock. It sounds really great from outside the car. I had a recent experience where the stang was valet parked for a function I went to (nice comments from the attendant also). Inside it's a little too quiet for what I was going for with the windows closed in the winter. Maybe if I had an O/R pipe... It was a tough choice though as Bassani had come out with their BX kit (aluminized) for not much more. I still looove the Bassani sound, but the SS of the FRPP kit gave it the nod for me. Unfortunately, in the northeast from my experience quality aluminized exhausts last about 4-5 years.
