What kind of reactions do you guys get on the street?

It's funny. I get all kinds of compliments on the Mustang from beautiful women. Usually stuff like "I love your car". (What about me???) On the other hand it's the guys that like the Cougar. Also it seems like every time I take the Cougar out I end up at a light next to a ricer with a...

    Trac-Loc vs. Locker

Auburn gear will work if you do not mind the clicking. Mine works in the rain just fine and does not get sideways. Straight line burnouts are straight and hard corners work.

    T-10 help

Okay, the Toploader and Borg Warner are basiaclly the same. The Toploader has a plate on top of the transmission to access the gears. The T-10 has a plate on the side where the linkage goes in. The linkage is on the side of both transmissions. Tranny gearing ratio is dependant for the most...

    Machine shop Idiots

Pulled the head on the pony. I had the heads redone just a short time ago because I screwed up on trying to change the cam. The book said two turns which I did and I lost the keeper on #2 intake and bent the valve. Make a long story short, they put the wrong valve in. Would not seal...

    How to get it running

Pull the fuel sender unit. Like Loup said, the pick up most certainly is blocked by old gas.

    65-66? fastback police car sighting

Add the Viper to the CHP compliment. One on I=5 and one on Hwy 99. The one on 99 has an American Flag painted over the body. Impossible to make out until you get close and see the star on the door and the little letters on the back stating "Highway Patrol".

    Exhaust question

I never understood the X-pipe. Two pipes into one. Excessive heat under the transmission. PIA to work around under the car. I recommend you stay with the H-Pipe!

    68 mustang shock towers w/ 428

1968 Cougars had 428 CJ's in them. Same everything as the Mustang except for the eye patches, taillights and performance. Have you ever seen an early Cougar with a 6 banger???

Where did you get your keyed 12 volt source for your elec. choke?

What year car do you have?? My 1965 has a three wire independent pigtail under the dash to the right of the steering colomn. One is hot and the other two are switched.

    handling

My 69 Kitty tends to roll. The 65 Mustang handles much better with only a bar in the front and does not roll. The Eliminator has the "drag-pac" option but the weight from the 428 I think moves the balance forward. It will dive into a turn but not pull through the turn, as the back wheels lose...

Whats wrong wiht my electrical system?

I would also check your grounds for corrosion. Both headlights have a ground wire. You need to pull the headlights and the headlight fender extensions to get at this connection.

'68 CA special.... how much $$

Well the first thing to look at is the DSO number. If 72 then San Jose. These guys until FORD shut them down used A block 289 or better engines. I know of a teal CA special with a 302 "J" and 4 speed for $2000. Needs some work.

    Home made cylinder head repair??

Larry -- I love your Ark quote. This is not brain surgury. Not building a 8.0 ghz computer system (BTW - silicon will melt at that speed - actually less than that) Just take man made metal and make it work. That is all I am asking,

    Home made cylinder head repair??

I have heard (rumor, legend, fantasy????) that cylinder heads can be fixed in your own garage. That one can rebuild a head without the assistance of a machine shop. That simple tools will do the same task. I burned the #2 exhaust valve and finally located one from Clevite. (Early 289...
