Finally got to installing composite leaf springs

Hello everyone, today I finally finished installing my Flex-a-Forms on the 67 stang. It drove it around town for a few minutes and everything seems fine. Do leaf springs have some sort of break in period or am I good to go. Everything else seems fine. I didn't have time to give it a full...

    Busted Locknut!!

Thanks for the reply MustangDave, I understand what you mean but the problem is that i'm trying to remove the locknut not the actuall nut holding the shock in place. At this point i can't remove the actual nut holding the shock because when it tries to spin (and while i'm holding the shock...

    Busted Locknut!!

Hello everyone, Today I finally had time to install my leaf springs. I did the passenger side fine. When i got the the drivers side i ran into some trouble. The KYB shock goes into he spring plate and is secured with a nut and then a smaller nut. Well the smaller one i'm assuming is to...

Floor pans and my gas tank

So i'm going to do my floor pans tomorrow with the help of my neighbor. He's a professional welder apparently and he's gonna hook me up. Anyway, should i remove the gas tank for safety reasons or is there no relative threat of explosions?

    Headlight switch!!!

Thanks, I got it out. Replaced it with a new one and the headlights and brake lights work like a charm. BUT as always something new comes up. My turn signals don't work. Basically when i move the turn signal lever for left and right turn signals nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated.

    Headlight switch!!!

So i pushed the button on the headlight switched and removed the knob with the shaft attached. Then i unpluged the headlight switch (took me a while). Now the damn thing is still sitting there. How do i remove it. I've tried pulling but don't want to break it off. Is the bezel, the one...

    Floor pans

I would definately like to learn and the logic you guys present is pretty solid. I guess if the tools cost around $800 I might as well buy them and practice. So lets say i buy all the tools and do it myself. Is the job forgiving. Say I make a mistake or some of the welding is crappy...

    Floor pans

So my floor pans are rusted out on the o'le 67 coupe. I went ahead and purchased both sides. I took it to a body shop and they quoted me 200 for each section. So $800 to weld in the new floor pans. What do you guys think? Is that pretty much average? By the way, I'm in California.

    Fuel Pump Question

I have a 351W with a stock fuel pump. I noticed the fuel pump has a small leak which explains one of the reason i'll end up smelling like fuel when i drive for a long period. I'm going to buy a new one but was wondering if it is a time to upgrade or if a stock pump will do just fine. The...

Are composite leaf springs worth it on a street ride?

Hello everyone. Well turns out I need to replace my leaf springs on the ol'e 67 stang. I was thinking about getting composites but was wondering if it would be worth it on a street ride. Maybe in the future i'll take it to a track but for the most part its a daily driver. Also, do they...

    16" wheels.

I bough myself a Baer disc brake conversion that comes with 12" rotors. My 15's might not clear the caliper so here's my question: In order to throw on some 16" wheels would I need to install a negative wedge kit or will a shelby drop do? I searched the forums and wasn't able to find a...

    Somewhat flat rotor.

Hello again, Thank you all for the advice on the PS Control Valve. After a few adjustments I slaped that badboy back on and took the stang on a test drive. It was great. I proceeded to take the car on the highway. Big Mistake!!! As it turns out, in my excited stupor i put on the lug...

    Power steering control valve play

Hello everyone, i'm fairly new to the forum so bear with me. Today I used a Control valve rebuild kit from Mustang Unlimited to rebuild my PS Control Valve on my 67 mustang. Everything went well but when I finished I noticed that there was still some play on the ball joint. The...
