    Dyno Run

Looks like I am going to finally get my stang on to a dyno this Saturday. I am hoping for numbers in the mid 300s at the wheels. Anyone want to take guess what kind of power she will put down? Here are the engine specs below: DSS 347 Shortblock (compression is supposed to be...

    Thoughts On Air Filter Size

not all drop bases are alike, and they will not fit the same on all carbs either, I had to clearance mine (not sure what brand it is) a bit when i had the edelbrock because of the electric choke, as well the front lip because of the distributor cap clamp. But when I switched to the demon, no...

    '66 coil spring problem

Ditto that, push down a bit on the control arm and they should pull out with minimal effort. As a side note I have the mustangs plus complete suspension on my car for 8 years and have no problems what so ever.

    ebay rims

They look like Chinese knock-offs of Torq-Thrust 2's, so they will fit 17x8's with 4.5 BS is fine and it has the correct bolt pattern. Although I believe for the fronts you may want the 17x7s, but plenty of more people will chime in for sure. They are probably 1 piece (instead of 2 piece...

    Exhaust Poll: Help me decide!

I voted other. I had Flowmasters and loved them, but I had 2.25 rusty system so I upgraded to a Magnaflow 2.5" system with the x-pipe. Magnaflows definitely flow better then most mufflers but I am not at all happy with the sound. I will be switching at some point to these, they sound...

What do you think about the price of this 66

Ha, I knew it wouldn't last!! Glad to see you are thinking about a real car again. Yeah my times are pretty sorry for my motor, but I only made it to the track once on the new motor and had a few issues that I will hopefully get worked out this year, like the clutch pedal sticking during...

    New Member w/ Questions

get a decent tool set from Craftsman, the sets that have between 250 and 300 pieces have just about all the basic tool, extensions sockets, screwdrivers, etc that you will need. Its a lot cheaper to by the biggest set you can upfront because buying tools individually adds up real quick. Get a...

    1966 Mustang Coupe

:D yeah i know, but, to get off topic, it's not that I don't think a 6 can make power, but if I wanted a 6 I would buy myself a Grand National or Supra, not a Mustang. There is nothing like the sound of sbf v8 at idle or hard on the gas! Plus there is an abundance of inexpensive new and...

    1966 Mustang Coupe

Go for the V8, a 6 isn't even an option in my book either. The key thing is having the will to get what you want done and the right tools. Everyone has to start somewhere, but it would be a lot easier if you can find someone to mentor you if you really don't have much mechanical ability...

    Rare Garage find.....

there definitely are, my g/f's uncle has an original 71 Road Runner, and a 50's Austin Healey sitting in his barn rusting away. I have asked him dozens of times what he wants for the Road Runner and why he won't sell it, and every time he says no to me I ask him to please take care of the car...

    Removing/Installing Fuel Line

Support the car by the frame so that the rear suspension hangs down all the way. Then after that, its just a matter of playing with it till you get the old one out and the new one it.

    Stereo Head Units

I cut my dash a long time ago to make a standard DIN radio/CD player fit in there. I dont regret it one bit. I don't turn it on that much except for long road trips or maybe sitting in Chicago traffic. Here is pic:

Timing set swap (289 to 5.0)

there are in fact at least 3 different size fuel pump eccentrics, I found out there are 2 sizes that were 1 piece and 1 2-piece: I believe I ended up going with a 2-piece to fit.
