Progress Thread The Arrogant Bastard ( '01 Gt )

Removed the crappy alarm system today, installed the SR Performance firewall adjuster and clutch quadrant today, and programmed my new key fobs (two for ten bucks on Amazon). Caster camber plates FINALLY arrived ... right before sunset. Grrrrrr. Oh well, guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow...

Progress Thread The Arrogant Bastard ( '01 Gt )

Fixing the exhaust was the #1 priority. With a huge hole in the muffler on one side and the mid-pipe of the other pinched, it was in sort shape, not to mention it was hideously cobbled together by some hillbilly welder. It actually went from a THREE-INCH cat-back (looks like a MAC brand setup)...

Progress Thread The Arrogant Bastard ( '01 Gt )

Story time! Let the epic lengthy posts resume. ;) Picked up an '01 Mustang GT last month after being 'Stang-less for a little over a year - the '09 Crown Vic was comfy, but a poor substitute. It was hard to find one that didn't have a metric crap-ton of miles already on it and/or hadn't been...

    Convertible top replacement progress thread

Fearing the hassle and expense of a top replacement on a fox 'vert was one of the biggest reasons why I got rid of my '86 GT 'vert. Well, that and the fact that it was slow as hell... Hat's off to ya' for having the gonads to give it a go yourself, dude. Lookin' forward to seeing the...

    LOL, Now THIS is rustproofing

Q: If so, do they make an equivalent to Valtrex to help prevent future outbreaks? A: Why yes ... yes, they do. ----> :lock: :D

    General/average cost to rebuild a T5?

Not all of us own or have access to a hydraulic press. Therein lies the problem in doing a rebuild yourself on a T5.

    General/average cost to rebuild a T5?

A guy in my area does rebuilds ONLY on T5's and he charges about $350 for a basic rebuild. If anything major needs replacing, he pretty much just charges at-cost for the parts. I've heard a few folks recommend him, so I'm thinking I might be pulling the T5 outta my notch someday and letting him...

What's a Good Cleaner For Blackwalls?

I've tried the No Touch brand stuff. It works so-so. If you stay on top of the cleaning stuff and you never put anything else on your tires, it's fine. Otherwise, if you get any kind of build-up on it, it doesn't really have enough detergent in it to really pull off the gunk to make it clean, so...

Poll: 87 Coupe: Wing Or No Wing? That is the question!

Funny how opinions can change over just a couple of years. :rlaugh:

What's a Good Cleaner For Blackwalls?

This may seem weird to use on anything but whitewalls or raised-white-letter tires, but I've found that sometimes that gunk that gets built up on the sidewalls of tires can only be removed with that Westley's Bleche-White stuff. If you use any kind of a tire shine treatment with silicone or...

Poll: 87 Coupe: Wing Or No Wing? That is the question!

Notches are all about the "understated" look. A big-ass wing like that kinda ruins that effect. Plus it doesn't flow as well with the body lines of a notch as well as it does with an LX hatch or GT - that abrupt drop-off of the rear window followed by an equally abrupt up-turn with a big honkin'...

    torque box kit

I'd replace the control arms while doing the torque boxes. Might as well save yourself some work and do it all at once, versus having to unbolt all that again later and fiddle with trying to get things to line up to put the bolt back through the control arm holes again.

Good God, I hope it's not that. :(

83 Capri RS 5.0 added to family

Only downside I see is that it has that funky setup with the horn button on the column instead of the steering wheel. Otherwise, VERY nice for $1,000. Looks like it's all pretty well intact. :nice:

T5 difficult going into gear when stopped

Skibbity doo badiska-doo a bib tee dee dibbity skibbity biddoo ... uhh-guh guh guh guh! *toots corn cob pipe* :D Turning one of the rear wheels would be easier, but I can still turn the driveshaft with the trans in gear if the clutch and the rear parking brake aren't holding things back. It...
