    Supercharger or PI SWAP

Off Subject... Tomustang, what the hell is that Avatar? If it's not redneck, is it redhead? Just curious as to what movie that was from. Just a hint...? Oh yeah, I too would lean towards the centrifugal blower. Maybe an exhaust change in the future, take it from there! Anything else is...

02 GT with no cats! Need advise....

You won't burn holes. The rattling could just be exhaust tremor, which is to be expected. MIL eliminators plug right into the O2 sensors. You should have 4, but you only need to get 2, to plug into the back two O2 sensors. They're the ones furthest back. If the Flowmasters are too loud...

SC and fuel type.. SC owners chim in plz

No 87 here. 93 only and sometimes I have to add octane boost. But I need a new tune, so I shouldn't really chime in. Still, at 20 cents more per gallon, if you were put in 15 gallons of 93 (aren't we only about 14 gallons?), you would be talking 3 dollars more. If you're blown, 3 bucks...

    tuner and timing

The dyno is not a good place to determine detonation. The road is much better. I might think a dyno tune can give you the most timing, but after the road test, it may need to come back a little.

BBK o/r X-pipe + flowmasters = Stink and TOO FREAKING LOUD

:) They installed my bbk too. That's why I took it back on Saturday morning. The Flowmasters were too loud. It depends on the guys and the timing, I guess. Great guys, who love cars. It was hush hush, bat that's all cool with me.

BBK o/r X-pipe + flowmasters = Stink and TOO FREAKING LOUD

I went to a local Midas (that worked with me.. young guys, loving a S/C GT) and told them the Flows were GREAT but too loud. We found a low end performance muff with a little more baffling to cut down the sound of HELL and as it appears on the reciept was CD Turbo Mufflers. Though I'd like...

    need help with a s/c

If you plan on keeping your car for a long time, I would suggest you find the fix and apply it. This way you can fix it the next time you have this issue. Do you regularly have your drain line blown out at oil changes? It could plug and cause oil to ooz/spew/chuck/puke/toss... what ever...

BBK o/r X-pipe + flowmasters = Stink and TOO FREAKING LOUD

The stink, stinks. I thought it might go away, but it hasn't. The sound with my quieter muffs is just sweet. I love it. But the smell is still too much. I hope this thread, through my experience helps some of you stang dudes. But really, the Flows on an X-pipe are obnoxiously loud. The smell...

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

Where exactly is modular powerhouse located? I'm interested. I want a good tune. My exhaust is fine much better now and the ONLY cash I'm spending from here on out is on a GOOD TUNE.

BBK o/r X-pipe + flowmasters = Stink and TOO FREAKING LOUD

I think the stink was just the burning in of the pipes, like one of the guys posted. MrVax was right, the unchambered Flows just didin't work for me with the BBK O/R X. I opted to keep the X and change the muffs. I installed 2 new (low-end) QUIET performance muffs and ditched the...

BBK o/r X-pipe + flowmasters = Stink and TOO FREAKING LOUD

So, if you were in my position, would you (with the too loud x-pipe) re-install the stock system, or go have your shop just cut and weld in some high flow cats? I need to know. As I said, I need this taken care of in the morning and I'm not getting much response because of the Holiday weekend.

BBK o/r X-pipe + flowmasters = Stink and TOO FREAKING LOUD

They're 40 series and I'm sure they sound great at the track. But man, these things are deafening inside and with the windows down, I know it's just wrong to do that to the neighbors. Besides that, the smell is gross and at some points, the cops will pull me. Yeah, it's that loud!

When do you know your shocks / struts need to be replaced?

Chances are you could be looking at weekended springs. Yous shocks/struts won't stop you from bottoming out, if the springs don't assist them. Test your shocks and srings by having two guys push down at the same time (on areas that won't dent) on each of the four suspension areas. Do none at...

BBK o/r X-pipe + flowmasters = Stink and TOO FREAKING LOUD

I just made that mistake tonight. It's too loud and the stink is obnoxious. I did hold onto my stock H-pipe with the 4 cats, BTW. In one evening this catless midpipe, along with Flows weld-ins has been purchased and installed and totally HATED, after a 7 mile drive home. It has to go PERIOD...

    Anyone else with oil consumption?

Good point. I'd also not mention the oil looking substance in the shifter assembly to them. That HAS to be that color because of a broken down form-a-gasket goo. Oil can't make it there and you shouldn't even mention that. But the oil consumption is bell housing forward. So they probably...

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

White 99, "You're dead right." I've wasted more money tonight. The tune truly is the issue and that's what I SHOULD NOT HAVE SETTLED WITH. The shop recommended the o/r x pipe and a aftercooler, when all I need is a proper tune. I had the o/r x pipe and MIL eliminators mounted and I HATE...

    Anyone else with oil consumption?

I've got 48,000 miles on my GT. Never added oil between oil changes. I change my oil every 3-5k. Now every 3 since the S/C install and use only synthetic. But I never add oil. On a typical Friday, I drive 350 miles to spend the weekend with my fiance and drive 350 home, back to Tampa...

Help!!! wheel spacers and lug studs

You have to remove your rotor and pound out the old stud. I would do all five if it were me. If one has been stressed due to the offset balance of the spacer, they may all have the same stress that you can't see. I don't like spacers worth a crap. Too dangerous for me.

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

Here's what I'm about to try... I just bought a BBK O/R X pipe and MIL Eliminators. With a little luck I'll have them on by tonight. I'm leaving the stock exhaust manifolds for now, just knowing that they are not a MAJOR restriction, but that the Cats certainly are. I got the MIL...
