    67 coupe - rear defogger install Q

Sweet, thanks for the pic. I don't know about rarity but it's not something I've seen a lot. My car came with basically 0 options besides the V8 so I'm gadgeting it up as much as I can without breaking the bank.

How vital is garaging a classic Stang?

Sun is harsh on exterior paint and all things interior...dash pads and rear package trays in particular, but carpet, upholtstery, door paint just under the windows, basically everything can be faded/dried out/ cracked by the sun. Which ironically is worse when the weather is nice and we've got...

    67 coupe - rear defogger install Q

I think it was a pretty good deal, thanks! I've been watching for one and have seen some go for more than I wanted to pay. Patience has paid off with this thing, upper & lower consoles, a tach dash, courtesy lights for under dash and doors, etc. I think my best deal yet was $78 for an upper...

    67 coupe - rear defogger install Q

Did you just sell me yours -- the part number (on the grille at least) is a C8AA number - so mine is from a '68 Galaxie as well, apparently. I don't see a number on the switch or bracket, and it's D0AJ (so a 1970 Galaxie) on some of the wiring. The knob is black plastic with a chrome (plastic)...

    67 coupe - rear defogger install Q

In my ongoing quest to add factory and/or dealer options to my plain jane coupe, I scored a rear window defogger off of eBay. I have the defogger unit & trim, wiring and a switch (looks like it attaches under the dash, has three prongs, and can be rotated into three positions. So here's my...

Anyone else had this many problems with there stang?

Can't top that but here's some fun anyway: I got my '67 coupe in high school and drove it daily. One weekend in the mountains the oil pressure ceased to exist and I had to hike back many more miles than I could now possibly hope to walk. Turns out it's garbage in the pan, something lodged in...

Tips on starting for first time?

Probably want to "prime" the cylinders with a little motor oil (a teaspoon or less) while you're changing those plugs, and you should roll it over by hand to be sure nothing is broken.

Ok, so the rack&pinions suck... What are we gonna do about it?

I rebuild my entire front end using Polygraphite bushings, etc. from PST...I did not have any trouble finding upgraded (over stock) components. I have an early '67 so no rag joint between the column and the box and it's still the original non-power, slow steering box but the new front end...

    Cleaning seat tracks

Sorry to be dense, but how did you actually seperate the tracks to clean them? Did you drive out the track-to-floor mounting studs? If so how'd ya get them back in?

    Cleaning seat tracks

I'm reupholstering the front buckets, and want to clean and lube the seat tracks. Apparently the bolts that mount the track to the floor also serve as stops to the roller inside the track, and they look pressed in. For those of you that have done it...is is worth it to take the tracks apart...

    Desperate for a center console!

I think you're gonna have to cut it yourself, I couldn't find any with that hole so I'll be cutting one when the car is back from painting. I think those inserts are basically stickers, the console isn't like the alum door and dash panels with removable inserts. the console top is 4 peices...

leave hood on? or take it off?

Your engine probably isn't going to live very long if you make very many runs without any air cleaner at all.

    Desperate for a center console!

I paid about $350 for a black manual trans ctr console on Ebay. Plastic was in good shape but the black camera case strip needed repainting and the brushed aluminum (or whatever it is...) is a little pitted but not too much for my daily driver. I keep looking for them to be reproduced like the...

    I'm a rook. I have a heads/engine question

It depends upon the dictionary. Some are more descriptive and are quick to include popular definition "shifts" and slang terms, while others (OED for example) are more PREscriptive and rigid in their traditional definitions. I for one agree, a motor is an electrical device.

    ? Overhead consoles questions ??..

they are fairly common on Ebay, I paid $80 for mine a year ago. I also saw in a recent Mustang Monthly mag that Scott Drake is reproducing them so don't pay too much until you find out what those cost.

Where to put CD player ?

if you don't have a console, the 67 uses a seperate bezel for the radio, making the repair of a cut one much easier. You can probably buy a used one off of ebay (maybe even already modified...that's where I sold mine when I put a console in) and cut if if necessary and keep the original. Or cut...

Edbert is right; mine had the jute-like insulation attached to the carpet, then the underlayment material in the pans, under the back seat, etc..

    Dismantelling before paint job Q

Right on about the scoops, 4 nuts each on the inside of the quarter panel drops them out. I had my windows out before I removed them, so I don't know how easy they are to get to with them in place. But I took my windows out for paint so you may to. I cut my remote mirror cables out because...
