    FWIW, i have decided when i buy some heads it will probably be the Ford Racing "X" heads, they are a good aluminum head for our small displacement applications...if you decided to go stroked one might want to opt for the "Z" heads.

    Yeah, I had thought about that, I found some hose wrap rated at 1100 degrees (its like 10 bucks a foot for 1") anyway, i will put that around the hose, I don't want to do header wrap, that stuff can get wet and rusts out your headers, it voids most header manufacturers warranties.

    Totally off topic, but need advice before I do this

    We have used a wood burning heater in our Farm shed for the past 40 years with no issue, we have a 40 x 60 shop and no it dont heat the whole thing, but its nice and cozy within a 10 foot diameter of it. Keeps the chill out of the air in that shop.
