    Cooling System Questions

A 180* or 195* t-stat would probably be a better chioce this time of year. A good aftermarket radiator is a big improvement over the stock one... my temp now reads 1/3 up on the factory gauge at all times, vs. 1/2 up with the stock rad during normal driving and 2/3 up when driving hard. I went...

    Granatelli Lowers worth the price?

I saw pics of someone's Granatelli LCA that had broke where the tube meets the bushing... cracked the weld right off. Personally, I don't think I'll be buying their control arms...

looking for a decent set of street/ strip shocks

Are those Strange's any good for handling? Or are they pretty much intended for street/strip use only?

    welding torque boxes

I might have to try this... I just learned to weld recently but seem to be picking it up pretty fast so far. :D

Luggage rack removal and re-install? 90conv

Me neither... I've always thought the luggage rack looked pretty ridiculous. Ford should have made it an option instead of standard... if I ever bought a vert the coupe trunklid would be my first mod.

Bad weather tires for on '04 v-6?

So you're looking for winter tires then? I'd go to tirerack.com, put in your size, see what comes up and compare the ratings and reviews. They have a lot of choices & it's pretty easy to compare diferent tires on their site.

    Taylor makes pretty nice wires.

    Homemade subframe connectors

That sounds awesome... some pics and maybe a writeup on how exactly you did it would be sweet :nice: I've been wanting to try some fabrication projects and chassis stiffening pieces seem like the ideal thing to do...

To get diamond clear headlights or not..that is the question.

I'd leave them as is, I always thought your lights looked good. And yeah, can we get a writeup? :D

Just got my first 5.0, where to start modding...

The bolt on SFC's are considered pretty much useless. I'd go with full length weld on connectors. Not really sure on the strut tower braces, but I hear a good one will help if you like to carve corners. The Maximum Motorsports one looks very nice and is supposed to clear most intakes. As far as...

should i port my heads myself?

I wanna try porting a set of GT40's... they're cheap enough that I ain't skurred. :D Seems like it can't be that hard as long as you do your research and take your time. As long as you don't take too much off...

Balljoint & Control Arm Bushing repalcement?

Awesome... I saw that page before but forgot to save it. It didn't even occur to me that this would be a good time to change the wheel bearings as well. Any tips on the bushings? :D

Balljoint & Control Arm Bushing repalcement?

Those FMS arms look like a fair price, but I can get the Moog balljoints for $25 each... and I already have the ES bushings. That's only $90 for parts, and even if I had to have them pressed in for $20-50, that's still $50-80 saved... which as a broke college student is worth the trouble. :\

Balljoint & Control Arm Bushing repalcement?

Could someone tell me what's involved in replacing the balljoints and front lower control arm bushings? I've done searches but it seems like there's a lot of different opinions on how to do it right. I'd like to do as much of the work myself as possible, I know it's not really considered a fun...

New Pictures, of progress - a few new things -

Lookin good! :nice: The things I would do to have acess to a shop like that... well, I have acess to the shop at school, but I don't think they'd like the idea of me using it to work on my own car for a few weeks at a time... :rlaugh:

A good way to see if your engine is strong enough to handle mods

So... what's the best course of action? Do compression & leakdown tests, if they check out okay, mod it and just hope for the best? Obviously not everyone has the resources to tear apart the entire bottom end just to inspect it, and then do a rebuild if it's not in great shape... BTW was your...

No one will install my SFCs or H pipe in Columbus

I second installing the H-pipe yourself, it's very straightforward. Just spray all the bolts down good with the PB Blaster or whatever penetrating oil of your choice and let it sit for a few hours or overnight. I used Liquid Wrench, which works well but stinks and tends to give you a headache...

    Seat Bolt

My left front seat mount ripped out as well. I put a piece of rectangular steel with a U-nut in the floor cavity and then bolted the seat down from the top as a termporary fix. If you had acess to thicker steel plate and a tap set you could just do that and skip the U-nut. But it's not something...

Any such thing as cool turbines?

Like I said, I think the centercaps are the main problem. I really think turbines look a lot 'meaner' without them somehow. The big plastic caps just look kind of goofy to me I guess. You brought up something I forgot to mention.... I think a 60 series tire is also part of the problem, as the...
