    Assembling a rear.

Can someone explain some things... When it comes to rears I think I understand everything. But then whenever I start a new mod I found out I don't know as much as I think. I want a strong 8.8 rear so here's what I'm gonna buy... 8.8 Housing Superior 31 Spline Axles Detroit EZ Locker...

    Building a rear...

What's the stock gear in explorers? And what years came with 31 spline axles? BTW, if I get JUST an 8.8 carrier can I just throw in the axles and diff?

    Building a rear...

By the way, can someone explain the EZ locker, tru-trac, etc. The EZ locker is inexpensive and seems to be the one for me but sounds to good to be true. Someone PLEASE explain how to build a rear.

    4cyl springs?

Doesn't really lower at all. Rear is softer somewhat. I might get flamed for this but I think eibach rear drag springs aren't much different from rear 4 cyl springs. I don't think you would want to waste the effort of a spring change on some 4cyl springs though.

    Building a rear...

I still have a 7.5 rear. I'm gonna grab an 8.8 from a junkyard and just use it as the carrier for some 31 spline Mosers and not sure what brand differential. Here's my question. WHAT DO I NEED? Because the way I think of it you just buy your differential, buy your axles, take the old axles...

$1500 Later, car is slower HELP!

when changing to 1.7s problems with pushrod length usually come about. You can get an adjustable pushrod from summit I think for like 12 bucks. I might have seen them in a 50SF magazine but I dunno. I know after getting my 1.7s I need different length rods. I noticed the shims don't all look the...

    struts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! need help!!!

I think I had the problem I had when I put my eibach drag springs in the front. The springs are so tall and hard that I had to have my dad sit on the fender to have the strut come up thru the whole. Try that. And BTW, if u dont want smart comments work on your attitude when asking for help.

where do I find these that will fit my 88 gt

Are staying with 15" wheels? When lowering it would be a good idea to stay at 15 because more tire than rim offers rotating mass advantage.

where do I find these that will fit my 88 gt

Well here's what I would do... Go with weld draglites. They are inexpensive. They have the same look. They have an infinite range of sizes. You can paint the wheel to look like the one above. The draglites are pretty much identical to the above pic.

    Headers for AFR 185's

I would agree that 165's are the smarter choice. Sure 185 is "more gooder" but your current combp doesn't need that. I could see if you had at LEAST a 331 or a blower but really these heads are OVERKILL for your combo. Just looking out for you, you would DEFINATELY benefit more from 58cc 165s.

    TORQUE BOX REINFORCEMENT PLATES

can anyone tell me about pinion angle? I know adjustable arms are the best for getting the best pinion angle but how do you know where to adjust it to? I know it helps with keeping the rear planted so this would be a nice thing to know...

    TORQUE BOX REINFORCEMENT PLATES

Here's what I don't get... If you get really good reinforcements, what is welding gonna help? Can someone honestly tell me if I'll be "OK" if I do not weld mine? I just don't have access to any welding, I'm not trying to be cheap.

    Good battery but no start...

I just relocated my battery a few months ago but never started the car. So today I made sure it was charged up, I hook it up and the interior light was very bright so I figured everything was all good... I hop in the driver's seat and flip the switch on my fuel pump but nothing happens...

usually a pop upon startup is a bad ground from my experience. After you've tried everything check your grounds for connection. Anthony

$800 to spend on a rear.

Well there is an MGW shifter for tremecs but I already have the T5 shifter and if I can get a strong tranny that bases the shifter base off of the stock T5 then I'll be ok. Basically I need a tranny and a strong posi rear for under $2000

$800 to spend on a rear.

Does anybody know where I can get an ASSEMBLED rear with a detroit locker (or similar), 31 spline axles and 4.10s. I really don't want to build up a rear myself so if anyone knows of some kind of package deal thing let me know. I just want a rear that'll handle 4k launches on slicks. Also if...
