    High RPM control from computer

lower intake hasn't been removed since initial install...I probably could have re-torqued it though... I have take teh upper off a few times, but it ran fine for 3 weeks the only thing that was happending before this mess was my batter lost a good ground during start up, power died when...

    High RPM control from computer

I ended up re-adjusting them to 1/2 turn...they're about the same noise. I consider them a bit loud..but they are 1.7s and the cam is likely another reason why their noisy. I made very good HP for my auto on the dyno, so I don't think I have a problem with them. As for blipping the...

I definately checked my vacuum hoses the best I could already, they're all new and fitted securely also the noise is not from any of the back where most of the lines are. ...I'll try to investigate the lower intake a bit more....

    4cyl to 5.0 swap help

the 86 is going to be a difficult swap...do you plan to keep EFI or are you going carb? ...i would suggest getting a 91 4 cyl instead... then the computer hooks up to your dash harness without any issues. this is assuming you wanted EFI remember the mpg difference from EFI to carb is...

    High RPM control from computer

I have an abornally high RPM (2000) while coasting and comming to a stop. After I stop RPM slowly return to normal 1k and idle is fine. It's only while driving I have this problem. If I put car in neutral RPMs easily go up to 2200 and slowly (sometimes 20 seconds later) return to 1k idle...

How can I get antifreeze stains out of polished alum?

used my technique on my radiator and overflow today...worked good! the 1500 will take the spots off with some patience...I then re-polished with mothers- The 1500 did leave super fine scratches, but I feel that was better than the spots- plus I figured I can go back over it with 2000 later.

My Car has a Mind of It's OWN!

oh yeah, and the odds they let the car idle a full 10 mins without accessories before driving off = slim that's where the 100 miles comes in... ...or reset the battery again and do it right :)

My Car has a Mind of It's OWN!

Ford says...100 miles before it's perfect- probably depends on how long you let it idle the first time..and if you run accessories etc etc 100 miles MIGHT be nessasary in those cases; how many poeple actually keep the radio off when they first start the car?

    Ready To Cry?

someone should restore it with 100% original saleen parts, worth saving yes. worth paying 2500....only if the engine still runs ...and how the hell does that happen to that car anyway? seriously...wtf is wrong with people

    High RPM

Did you battery die and need a re-charge? if you computer lost power for more than 30 mins it must re-learn idle drive it 100 miles and it should go away!

My Car has a Mind of It's OWN!

When you lose power the computer must "relearn" how to idle properly. you say the car almost revs itself...to what RPM? I JUST went through this myself, car would drive down the road at 1500 rpm without any throttle in 4th gear at 45-50 mph cruising speed. Sometimes when shifting to...

    Re-torque guidlines on heads

also; fyi the factory didn't re-torque because they use torque to yield bolts...they're designed to use onen time only technically you're supposed to retorque bolts or studs that are not torque to yield...however...I think about distrubing the coolant passage threw hole bolts that have thread...

    Re-torque guidlines on heads

I recently rebuilt my engine and I'm going back to re-torque my head studs. I've probably run close to 400-500 miles without going back to re-torque yet; but I've driven the car very mildly (under 3 grand) except for a few dyno pulls. Needs some guidelines (I want to be super cautions that I...

No Crank Over- No Fuel Pump

so is this connector not being used then? what tranny do you have now? you must be talking about the neutral safety switch wiring/plug...and it needs to be hooked up or it wont turn over. Start by fixing that first for sure.

    bucking problem

is your tranny cross member bolted tight? I would get under there and see if you can check for movement...maybe with a buddy that's what I personnally would be trying...not sure if it's possible to tell this way or not...??? I think the chiltons/hayes book explains how to check the...
