Fuel Pump ?'s How many GPH?

OK, some good advice has already been dealt, here's my 2¢. Don't ever use braided hose for the full length of the car. Use solid tube, 3/8" (or whatever AN size that equates to) as much as possible. Best practice is to also run a return line and a regulator with 3 fittings, supply, carb...

Keisler 'Perfect Fit' TKO 500 in a '66

I can't imagine the Tremec fitting without any tunnel mods and keeping the required angle (which I think is actually 4°). The only way to achieve this is to drop the engine height which then severely cramps the steering gear. At a minimum, the tunnel bracing at the gearbox crossmember has to be...

    Parking lights on a 66

I have a brand new light switch here and yes, there is a terminal on it that is live when in park and goes out when the main beams are turned on. If this terminal is connected to your park lights I imagine that is the result you will get. Having said that, there's no way you want your rear...

    DIY Headers

Thanks guys, those pics look pretty good. I realise it won't be a 5 minute job, there's no rush. As of last Wednesday it's a 7 year project anyway!. I made the back half of the exhaust system a couple of years ago, and it goes exactly where I want it to. The engine is about 3" rearward from...

    DIY Headers

Hi All, anyone out there tackle the construction of their headers themselves? I was wondering if there's any design literature/tips available. My bucket-of-bits should be arriving before Christmas - should keep me amused for a few days....

    re-chrome?

I've just had my '65 bumpers and overriders done here in Aus. They needed panel beating as well, but the result is excellent. Try looking up metal polishers in your local phone book.

vinyl top on a standard coupe

I think the vinyl will look OK if the rest of the car is done to suit. I heard once, and I don't know if is true, that if a car come down the production line with some roof imperfections, they stuck a vinyl roof on it to hide them a bit. Might be a bit of a headache to keep clean??

    Printed circuit repair

This stuff is available locally, you should be able to find some in your neck of the woods. Might do the trick.

    double flare questions

Rothenberger ROFLARE is an absolute gem of a tool. Get the double flare adaptor and their pipecutter and you are set. The 'double rail' tools are a PITA. Once you've used one of these you'll never want to use anything else for flaring ever again.

    Engine replacement & tranny rebuild

For decoding your casting numbers: The first character is for the decade the part was produced. A - 1940's B - 1950's C - 1960's D - 1970's E - 1980's F - 1990's G - 2000's The second character is for the last numeral of the year the part was produced. (With the first 2 characters...

    Mustang Project Taillights Recommendations?

I haven't got the LED controller with me at the moment, but if I recall correctly i used a 220µF 25V electrolytic capacitor and (I think) a 270Ω resistor. The positive side of the electolytic cap is hooked up to the positive side of the LED array, the negative side of the cap is hooked to earth...

    Mustang Project Taillights Recommendations?

If you're up for a bit of work you can get a replacement rear panel... But as for the LED's I'm all for them. I'm using standard taillight enclosures for mine and I've custom made a circuit board to hold the LED's (8x10mm in each lens section). Here in Aus, we have to run orange indicators so...

    cool 65 drifting video

Well, pretty good until near the end... then he lost the plot! (And I think he might have got a bit of a dressing down by the officials afterwards.) We run similar events here, motorkhanas, usually in a bit smaller area. The aim is to be the fastest around the course and usually requires a...

    Fire and Ice

Hi Bob, glad you found your engine:D I've seen reports of these things doing sub 13 second quarters, stock, in an 1800kg car! Good luck, can't wait to see the results!

Top Dead Center: How to determine?

You can do this with either the head on or off. You need to get something solid to stick down into the bore. Either weld an extension onto a spark plug or rig up a bolt on a piece of angle to bolt across the bore if your heads are off. The stopper doesn't have to go far down into the bore...

What's the best adjustable air shocks for a '65?

Personally, I think air shocks are a no-no for any performance app. Get the springs reset or get a new set. If the car is still lopsided with a new set in there then there's some pretty serious body twist somewhere.

    Importing Classics to Oz

If you want to use it as a daily driver you're probably better off converting to RHD, but as 666 said, it's not mandatory. There are lots of reputable converters over here, just do your homework first and get involved in one of the local mustang clubs - they'll know. Conversions are 2.5K$...

    Loose input shaft

The front of the input shaft is supported by the spigot bearing in the end of the crankshaft when the gearbox is in place so a bit of play is normal.

    Toploader and hydrualic clutch

I don't know if the pedals in the links you posted will fit or not. Here's what I've used in my RHD conversion, a Willwood 7/8 MC and a Quartermaster hydraulic TOB. Might give you a few ideas.

    '66 mustang purchase?

"....Rebuilt open 8 inch rear, 3.73 gears...." It looks like it's got 4 lug wheels all round. Did any 8" diffs have 4 lugs?
