    help me spend some $$

so i recently stumbled across a large sum of money. so much that i feel comfortable dropping some of it into the stang. i was thinking about a 10k budget. ive been drooling over a T-56 for a loooong time. so thats pretty much a given. but i also think its time for a built engine as well. I...

    Trans v. Tranny

hm, cool site. im gonna read more when i have time. im just saying, that although 'motor' may be slang, but it shouldnt be. a motor is something else. it is its own unique part. i can see how 'vert' is slang, no biggie there. its just a pet peeve when people say 'motor' to describe an engine.

    Trans v. Tranny

how are those innacurate? those are slang terms, which is different than a motor/engine. although i agree that tranny/trans is really the same thing since transmissions are more common than transvestites (sp?).

    Trans v. Tranny

QFMFT the actual definitions are: -a motor is externally powered -an engine powers itself that big thing under your hood is an ENGINE!

    Alternator possibly bad. thoughts?

ok, so my battery and charging system checked out ok. the battery was low at 419 amps, and said it should be charged. anyway, so theres some sort of parasitic draw. its gotta be the stereo system since i unplugged the alarm and the battery still went dead. so my question is are there any...

    Alternator possibly bad. thoughts?

so long story short, i didnt drive my car for about 2 months, and the battery was dead when i went to start it. no biggie, jumped it and went on my way. now though, if i dont drive the car every day, the battery dies when i go to start it up. since yesterday, it didnt even have a charge after...

Back From Shop: mrvax's Mustang gets Whacked!

sorry to hear about your daughter's injuries. cars can be replaced. its amazing though how people always want to lie, saying it was your fault. ive lost all hope/trust in society as a whole.

    Oil residue behind the pan?

rear mains are one of the few true headaches with vehicles. it requires removal of the tranny (4-5 hrs labor) and all for a $3 seal

    Oil residue behind the pan?

you, my friend, look to have a leaking rear main seal, which is extremely common on Fords. mine's been seeping for the past 8k miles or so (im at 65k miles). im too lazy to fix it, so ive been adding a bit more oil on oil changes, and checking every 1k miles or so.

Help ASAP! Clutch Cable or something!

i bet the clutch cable was so far out of adjustment that it finally snapped when you pushed it hard. just replace it with an OEM ford cable. i tried a UPR and STEEDA adjustable cables and both were crap. ford cable worked the best

    Weird Vibration at high speeds

try balancing all four tires. your rears may be off balance. also, when they installed your gears, they may have turned your driveshaft when re-installing it. its balanced at a certain spot, but when you twist the driveshaft and install it differently in the yoke, it may vibrate.

    P.O.S Plastic Lower Cracked OPTIONS?

yeah, ford likes to diagnose these coolant leaks themselves, they dont like to take your word for it over the phone. ford just recently denied my warranty on my manifold because i was 4 days over, but im fairly sure they denied me because of my mods. i had a STB that is a PITA to remove...

    Brake Slap

theres no need to bleed the brakes when you change pads. thats more of a seperate maintenance thing. usually when you just do a pad slap, the grooved rotor will groove the pads quickly too. when we do brake jobs at work, we try to sell a rotor resurface too, especially on the front. just...

    275's?

i have that setup, 18x9 wheels with 275s all around and sportlines. i had no issues at all until i added steeda's tubular front swaybar (its pretty thick). now when i turn my steering wheel all the way to lock on either side, my wheel rubs on my swaybar. not bad, just enough to make a loud...

updated intake manifold and new brakes review

yeah, i had the PI intake with the plastic runner in the front. i guess the updated OEM has the aluminum runner. yeah, i took into account proper tq specs. its just like any other manifold (intake/exhaust) or head you install. start from the inside and criss cross outward. not rocket...

updated intake manifold and new brakes review

overall, the install wasnt bad at all. dare i even venture to say it was easy? anyway, being the cocky guy i am, i didnt bother to read any how-tos beforehand. total time was about 3 hours, including the time it took to remove and re-install my STB, which was a PITA. i took my time and...
