track friday. grudge match against evo

it's just your burning better , remember to shim the reg if you go 125 (is it a dry shot?) don't go higher than 100 octane, and then you can probably time it at about 12*-14* if it's cool out otherwise just stay 10* and 100 shot 100 is PERFECTLY SAFE ... don't even sweat that you should...

    AOD problems, any ideas?

i can tell you now that the tranny is toast, and needs a complete rebuild along w/ a new convertor , you may want to seek a tranny shop for this and not "experiment" you can't flush the old one, and most (if not all) the hard parts are destroyed. i went through 3 of these so i know what...

Max horses on a daily driver

i also think 300 hp is a good goal for a street car. 400 maybe if you make 300 na then add a 100 shot of nitrous for track and street races. but you can get 300 for doing nothing...get gears , 100 shot and some lca's. you'll be running 12.50-12.70 and still be reliable as heck

    need confirmation on my clutch

resurface the flywheel...they will tell you if it's too thin already. if the disc was fine...why are you burning so bad? i'd look into a possible bad clutch quadrant, dump the stocker for adjustable. make sure it's engaging/disengaging all the way

    need help with stall converter

there is nothing to slip...the converter spins which turns the fluid which causes rotation. nothing will burn , it's a fluid link

Understanding my AOD and its potential

no, 3000 is a reference point point anyways. for XXX hp in a XXXX lb. car the lighter the car and less hp it has to that reference poiont...the LOWER the stall speed will be. usually about 4000 lbs is typical for weight and 300-350 HP (but thats a guess kinda, but figure the typical 60's...

    Suspension gurus need your help

just do a set of lca's (i like hpm's the best) and an air bag on the right rear w/ 50/50's if it doesn't hook after that, you need to learn how to do a burnout properly. BTW....w/ 4.10's on all stock motor and 100 shot my old notch went 12.50's that way w/ 1.7x 60's...launching about 3500

    nos fuel pump?

it all depends what kit you get. a dry kit squirting 100 shot on all stock everything can use a stock pump.

Understanding my AOD and its potential

no , i'm not saying no manual valve boby...that is a GOOD thing to get. it's just beacuse the aod has 2nd and 3rd all in 1 spot aka "D" you have to do the "shuffle" to manually shift w/out a manual valvebody. w/ a man VB your good to go, manually shifting any other tranny doesn't hurt it...

Understanding my AOD and its potential

sorry i didn't read this til i posted. not exact car but here are times w/ mods for some of my old cars. 1990 GT aod = 3.73, shorty headers, dynomax , sprtsman pro's , gt40 intake, pullies, low gear set (1st is now 2.84 instead 2.40 and 2nd is 1.55 instead of 1.47) transgo shift kit, 2200...

Understanding my AOD and its potential

ok check it out bro...i have been through (5) 5.0's 2 of them aod's the shuffle WILL cause failure...some clutches will not be disengaged when they should be, the intermediate clutches. it only helps about a tenth at best anyway, so just don't do it. same goes for the tv...

    clearance issues

do 85's have quads? i don't think they do... you should be fine...any tire that is under 26 X 10 1/2 will fit w/ reversing or removing the quads...are you going 5 lug? or these are 4-lugs?
  16. notchback

    Do these tricks really work?

yup...to run the same power level w/ incresed octane you HAVE to increase timing. higher octane causes (something along these lines..i'm no physicist) the need for higher combustion chambers temps for proper burn. ex: if you used 12* timing on turbo blue 110 octane.......you would run slower...

will heads and cam perform w/o intake???

yeah it'll work.....stock intake doesn't really hold you back until you make 300 hp
