    Rear End De-code ?

    Are you sure 8.8? The bolt pattern has 10 bolts, 2 of them are in the center up and down like the pic's I se of 7.5's. And not in the center from side to side like the pic's of the 8.8. Thanks for your help. I am going to sell this and just don't want to misrepresent it.

    I picked up a rear end and was told that it came from an 86' 5.0. I know it is 4-lug and possibley a 7.5 but not sure. Could anybody help with de-coding the tag # ? 201A 2SL73A887L19 Thanks!

    X-plan? I am going to buy an 05 have cash what is this X-plan? I live in Reno Nevada and the local dealer hasn't even gotten ant 05 yet. I may go to Cal. Also did I here that a Cobra is coming tward the end of the year? If so I may wait (500HP I heard)

    The first problem is that they are made in Japan. :notnice: The second is they are the wrong size. :shrug: the end cap must go all the way to the retainer clip. your lucky they didn't come apart on you on the road. :(

    I run a 2" spacer and 5" air cleaner and still have about 1" on a 3" cowl on a 67" And yes open means no holes except the mounting ones. You can get them off eBay for about $13.00 + s&h. The sugestions you have already gotten are good. Get rid of that Edelbrock and go Demon!

    Spedo gear ? The 23 tooth gear would be the one you want. It may not be 100% correct but will get you the closest. You can get one on eBay,Ford Parts Dept. or if your lucky you could pick one up at the junk yard.

    Motor ?? You don't say what the condition of the 289 is in. But you do say on a budget. If the 289 just needs to be re-built then that would probably be the best. If the heads you are talking about are the 351's w/ larger valves that is a good combo. If you re-build you could go to a flat top...

    I can live with the combo on the street, it's fun when the other person get's you off the line then you go screaming past him on the top end. I know at the track I need slicks. With my combo I guess I should put in a trans brake and just try to launch the car aruond 3000rpm? And hope it hooks...

    It's just a vent for the rear end. The open end should hook to a clamp on the underbody.

    Maybe I should have said in normal driving conditions on the street it is lazy compaired to the 289 and C4 and 2.79 stock set up that used to be in the car. On the track it is also still lazy right off the line ( most likely the power band) it actually dosn't start spinning for about the first...

    replacement seats

    Seats What year is your car? I got a nice set of racing seats from PeP Boys for $150.00 ea. The same seat Summit sells for over $200.00 they went in my 67" with just slight mods to the orig. mounting holes.
