    Changed o2's...now what?

You can find my threads if you are interested but suffice it to say car idle really bad, surging, jumping etc... Getting check engine lights for HEGO 02 sensor lean, and always lean...so we changed the o2's and we still got the same codes...does it take time for this to take effect? We cleared...

    Idle Problems....CODES inside

UPDATE I think I found the coolant problem, most likely not a HG, which is GOOD news! Like I said before, on cold starts the car will not run at all without a LOT of help from me...but I have learned that if I just shut the car off and turn it right back on again it runs, albeit with that...

    Idle Problems....CODES inside

Code 90 on the cylinder balance test means that the system is functioning...today MORE fun! Drove to work car starts overheating, pull over pop the hood and coolant is SHOOTING up from the heads (I think) gonna have to take a closer look at THAT when I get home. I fear a leaking head gasket...

    Idle Problems....CODES inside

Okay, so since I cleaned the MAF (and yes it was dirty) and reset the KAM, the problems have continued. Crappy idle, crappy gas mileage, and sputtering and dieing (0-2000 rpm) at initial start up. I haven't gotten any more CEL, but the KOER self test still says System Lean/System ALWAYS Lean...

    car is totaled!

Actually, for me (progressive), the insurance company required that I have a salvage title before they would give me ANY money for my car at all. Not really a problem for me as I plan to keep the car till it turns to dust.

    car is totaled!

When mine got totalled, they first identified the value of the car and told me that they would salvage the car and give me a check for that amount minus my deductible, or they would give me my car and a check for its worth MINUS what they would get at an auction. I ended up with about $6,500 and...

    Idle Problems....CODES inside

Yeah I agree that something is definitely wrong with the MAF and I am going to remove it and clean it VERY thoroughly, as well as the electrical connectors as soon as I can get back to town. I don't know if there is a filter element in the seperator I will check, but I know it prob needs to be...

    Idle Problems....CODES inside

The MAF doesn't look bad to me at all...I have an oil seperator installed past the PCV and I am going to empty that and replace the PCV valve (who knows when that was done last). I'll look for info on checking the voltages off of the MAF...and whats a KAM and how do I reset it? PS: Anyone...

    Idle Problems....CODES inside

Another reply to my own post...the car seems to run better with the MAF disconnected. I am thinking a bum MAF creating a lean condition? Any way to check?

I also have a vacuum gauge...useful little tool it seems...but where would I hook it up on my car? To add: In the intake tube (where the MAF is) there is a small amount of oil...apparantly coming from the hose connected to the oil filler tube...what does this mean?

Help me with my idle problems...please!

Timing makes no change, car occasionaly bucks under power (45, 55mph for sure) sounds of an exhaust leak. Blue cap near oil dipstick hisses continuously. Three vacuum lines (red, green, peach) all broke and were repaired. I don't know how to test the vacuum. If I hold the rpms at 900-1000 the...

Help me with my idle problems...please!

Just to add...when the car is surging at idle if the lights are on they will flicker on and off like the car is loosing electrical power but the car never actualy dies. Also the ammeter (stock) is always on the VERY high side of normal...could this be alternator related?

Help me with my idle problems...please!

Hey :SNSign: First let me say I have searched and gone through the "Surging Idle Checklist" and still not really sure, though honestly I haven't completed any steps that required a voltmeter as this is not something I have at my disposal but can obtain if you guys think the situation...
