    My 07 changes....so far.

I made two passes this year with the original "Bolt-on set-up". I ran a 7.46 w/ a 70 shot and a 7.36 w/ a 100shot. Both times the clutch was slipping really bad. I pulled it apart and waited over a month on the backordered clutchnet parts. The amount of downtime started pushing me dangerously...

    What gears?

Got to merkurtech.com and you'll find some cool little calculators. you punch in your trans info, tire size and rear gear and it will tell you "X" mph and at "X" rpm in each gear.

Anyone know the spring rates for a '87 Turbo Coupe/5spd?

OR if you want to go with that 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive chevy look by using 4cyl mustang springs in the front and TC rear springs in a mustang. Should give you about 6" higher in the front

    replacing the timing belt question

The ONLY engine I would recommend it on is the 2.0 Zetec. Otherwise a good mechanic might take a 2.3 tensioner off and clean all the oil/crud off of it but unless the clearly visible spring isn't broken there's no need.

Swapping 7.5 for 8.8 ran into problem with brake lines

I used the 4cyl dist block and then made my own lines that go out to the wheels. But if you have the stuff off the old rear either will work. The V8 brake line is longer to allow for the exhaust to go by. I would try to stick with the v8 stuff and gentlely remove it at the wheel cylinders and...

HX/HY35s are nice and all, but what about H1Es?

well you can run nitrous+big turbo and it will spool for sure. If you intend to run it without nitrous I wouldn't be caught dead with a big turbo and no 2 step.

HX/HY35s are nice and all, but what about H1Es?

I would say its mine but I run more boost and on my in car video you couldn't see the boost gauge. My car on nitrous is nearly instant for it to build boost. probably about .2 before its at full boost.

HX/HY35s are nice and all, but what about H1Es?

I'm certain anything used just for drag racing the bigger turbo is a good choice. Using a 2step to build boost its not going to matter about lag time.

HX/HY35s are nice and all, but what about H1Es?

yeah defintily keep your eyes open for the other turbos of the same size. We say mine is an HX35 so people can relate to it. Its actually a WH1C which is the same thing but came out before the HX35.

1st trip to the track for 07

I definitely didn't take any steps backwards from last year. I ended last year with a 7.2x/ 1/8 and that run ended as an 11.27@120. The only changes I made were to switch to a good set of plug wires, build the rear end but left the 3.55 for now, and wired the car to launch on boost...

    2.3L... Turbo swap?

Yeah what he said except The pump only costs $96 from Jdsperformance.com It helps keep the cost down because alot of that stuff is made for 5.0's. I've also never given more than a $300-400 for a running engine and everything to swap it.

    2.3L... Turbo swap?
