Alt wiring Q's jrichker and wiring gurus come in!

I don't know if that is an option, for the sake of simplicity. Id rather not go tearing into my dash tracking down wires and resistors. Unless the wires I need are ran to the location of the stock ECM, then I may be able to find them.

Alt wiring Q's jrichker and wiring gurus come in!

Ok, correct me if I am wrong here. It seems I need to run a heavy wire from the Alt to battery, connect the yellow/white wire to hot post. The light green/red needs to go to key switched power. and basically the white/black is looped to the regulator from alt. If anyone else has anything...

Alt wiring Q's jrichker and wiring gurus come in!

Care to help me out? Maybe explain how to do it? Wiring Diagram? Keep in mind I have nothing, no plugs, no wiring, nothing.. although I do have the 4cyl engine still here with the alternator still on it, if the plugs are the same.

Alt wiring Q's jrichker and wiring gurus come in!

Is it possible to wire a standard 2g or 3g alt so it works like or similar to a 1 wire alt? Im trying to avoid spending extra dollars on a 1 wire unit if at all possible. Engine is a 5.0L carb'd with no factory wire harness remaining. (4cyl swap) Thanks for those who reply.

    Paint and prep...

You are probably going to need someone that has painted a car before to help you out. It is very costly to buy all the materials to do a proper job, and you do not want to ruin it. I understand the thrill of a do it yourself project, but paint and bodywork is something better left to the pro's...

can't get car to idle down below 2 grand

7-9psi is max for a carb setup. You are probably pushing fuel down in the carb from too much pressure. p.s. If the choke opens after a few seconds on its own, it works :P

    gears are in!

That doesnt mean that you did the manufacturers recomended break in proceedure with your line lock burnout. But I really don't care either way.

    gears are in!

I was always under the impression you had to let the gears go through heat cycles to break them in. I bought a new set of gears a few years ago and the instructions stated that.

    302 for airplane

Car engines suck on airboats let alone putting a 5.0L in an airplane. They don't hold up to the abuse and vibration from the prop. I truly think you would be better off trying to find a salvage plane or such and using the engine from it. my .02
