Tranny problem or is this normal?

If it was always engaged the car wouldnt move or the clutch would be sipping so bad the car would barely move.

    Set me straight.

I run the NX wet kit at 100 HP on a bone stock engine. Check my sig for the bolts on's I have. Mainly full exhaust and MSD ignition components. It works great in my opinion. I dont get greedy in timing, I run it between 10* and 12* with one step colder spark plugs and it performs flawless.

Tranny problem or is this normal?

Big trucks shift without the clutch all day long. As long as your engine RPM's are close to what the gear your shifting into requires, it drops right into gear. Its called RPM matching in the trucker world.

AOD tranny problems after gear install

The AOD shuffle is sure to kill his tranny or any AOD for that matter. It smokes the bands in the transmission. If you want to hold 2nd gear get a Lentech Street Terminator with the OD lock out. Best money you'll ever spend if you like the automatic.

will 18" wheels fit under a foxbody

LOOKS! They fill the wheel well real nice. Plus you can get a real short sidewall for better handling, less sidewall flex and they dont look dinky in the wheel well like a 16 or 17 would with a short sidewall.

AOD tranny problems after gear install

It could just be a little more noticable now with the lower gears seeing the RPM's are higher and you're getting more torque to the tranny. What did you switch from? 2.73's or 3.08's?

    wheel studs??

Ok, UPDATE! What I posted above stands true for the front studs but for the rear you'll need different studs. The correct studs for the rear are Moroso part #46180 or Summits part # is MOR-46180. Those are .615 diameter knurl and short length knurl so they won't hit the lug nuts when tightened.

    Tick tick tick...

By the way to answer your question. I dont think you'll get a tick from a hole in a piston plus it would burn oil through the hole. It sounds like a valve train problem to me. Maybe a loose rocker, colapsed lifter. Did you miss a gear and over rev it or put it in a lower gear than you were...

    T5 tranny connector

The earlier Mustangs didnt have the neutral safety switch so those didnt need to be in neutral to start. I want to say 89 and up had the switch. And my switch is jumpered, I forgot to mention that part.

    Clutch Quadrant?

A quadrant is always a good idea but it may not fix your grinding problem. Wheres your clutch letting out? If its not letting out way at the bottom near the floor then the quad isnt going to fix it. Sounds like a worn syncro ring to me.

    T5 tranny connector

There are 2 types of safety switches on the later cars. One: you have to depress the clutch to engage the starter. Two: The transmission has to be in neutral to engage the starter. So from the factory you'd have to perform both ONE and TWO in order to crank the car. So if your neutral safety...

    Painters I need advice

I tend to have better luck cleaning things like engine compartments with Castrol Super Clean than Simple Green. Simple Green seems to leave a good film where the Super Clean seems to rinse away nice and do a much better job. The Super Clean is more potent so I tend to wet the areas with the hose...

HELP!!! WIRING ALTERNATOR MASTER DISCONNECT SWITCH

Voltage spike? From what? Your cutting power, thats it. Mine works awesome, shuts the engine right down. Just make sure you dont follow the Moroso switch directions and put the little jumper wire from the big terminal on the switch to the little terminal on the switch. If you follow jrichker's...

Are these good tires? Good price?

I always had great luck with the older Comp TA's, they handled very well, hooked good for a street tire and to top it off they wore like granite.

    Painters I need advice

Do you want to know if the simple green will leave a film that will hinder the bonding of the paint you're going to be applying? If thats your question then yes it will hinder the adhesion of the new paint. After the simple green i'd really hose it down good and wipe it with a water wet rag...

    wheel studs??

Ok heres the deal. The proper studs that require no drilling are these. Moroso part # 46185 Summit has them listed as part # MOR-46185. The knurl is .594" on those studs.
