sub $20k V8 rumor strikes again

Thanks i4, I do just read instead of guess - but Hopped up on Hydrocodone, topped off with a good measure of DR. Pepper and suffering from bouts of insomnia due to pain and the drug itself (caffeine does not influence my ability to sleep) I'd say it's more of a 60's style connection to the...

    Buying a mustang

I kind of felt the same way about the Camaro. Early 1970 when they finally ran out of the 69 body shell, was the end of the Camaro... and yes if you look really hard you can find a 1970 model year wonder machine in the 69 body. It's hard to believe how far away they got from that original look...

LS1 forum folks droolin over 05 stang

To be honest, I liked that truck from what I saw in the commercial... but as with all GM products it's over priced and lacks a little bit of “this and that” ALL OVER the place and a whole lot in three really big aspects IMO. A Supercharger or Turbo like they make it sound in the commercial (I...

sub $20k V8 rumor strikes again

I'm going to try to contribute to this thread without writing a 6 page white paper. The first thing I would mention is out of the box thinking does not seem to be a trend in this thread by many who have posted. Nor is realistic or deductive reasoning using the past, current trends, and the...

    why mod a V6?

Well, in a word yes. Could you afford one, most likely not. When the car debued in 82 it was set for 100 unit production. 215 were actually made. The car looked fantastic, but under the hood was a somewhat enimic 125HP 4.1 liter V6 power plant. The car came back in 84 sporting the 200HP 3.8L...

4X4 Look that can't be fixed?

I think a key aspect of the project was the all wheel drive/Mustang hybrid endgame. I think we northerners have all probably wished for AWD the odd time while driving our strangs. In this application I would have liked to see about two inches of that height knocked off or in the least, 20 inch...

Why is FORD keeping the 05's roped up!

Hand built does not mean they hand hammered the panels, :nonono: it means they put the panels on the chassis by hand... assembly, not manufacturing... as in not robot assisted on the assembly portion of the line. The presses were put together as soon as they had final approval on the looks...

4X4 Look that can't be fixed?

Not sure if anyone has tripped over this yet. I was in the process of updating my site and adding some links and ran into this. I've got some big projects on the go, but this takes the cake. Not sure if I like it, but props to the guys that did all that work. Z.

Some new pics of my mustang

Great looking car. Nice and clean. I'm going to have to get one of those wings. My Stalker is too high and recently cracked horizontally along it's seam due to the cold. Need to go with the pre 2002 to match the modified bolt pattern. My thoughts exactly on the height. Steeda sport springs or...

Geting pulled over is no fun ! Ticket stories

I was just trying to help out in a constructive way, suggesting what can be done in situations where you think you are given a ticket that is not justified. Everyone colors their story in their favor, but zoopa's description is too well written. That cop was moving in assembly line fashion...

Geting pulled over is no fun ! Ticket stories

Sounds like a quota ticket to me, they way he pulled that off. Go buy a cheap digital camera and put it in your glove box.... I would have got out of the car when he came back and said "just need to walk a bit - little ticked about work or make something up about looking at his car - then...

    Again I ask

I'm looking for a V6 bright aluminum rim to replace the one that was fubared in the SVO smush. Anyone who has upgraded their wheels and wants to part with the stockers, I'd be willing to make a deal on all 4 if I must. I'd only like to get 2 at most if I can. Please PM me if you have...

    why mod a V6?

I don't want to start anything. I usually lie pretty low, but it would be wise to check out production figures on the Mustang and maybe pick up a book or two on the history of this car. It's been said before and I'm going to say it again, without the 2.3L 80s/90s and 3.8L V6 90s/Now, there would...

    2005 Mustang Prices

What I don't get it why people instantly think GT when V8 is mentioned. Although not consistantly offered, the Mustang was available in basic trim with a V8 right up to the end of the FOX body. I am a realist and don't expect it, but if it does actually happen you can bet you butt that "GT" will...

Anybody heard about this? Mustang G-Premium for Japan?

Good way to get rid of the old body style maybe?

    I'm Finnaly Turbo'ed ......>

Nothing else on earth equals an SVO epiphany. It's always nice to see someone "get it" when it come to the 2.3T's. Congrats on the purchase and good luck with the car. You are already moving in the right direction "working a few things out". These cars respond incredible to mods when they are...

    Ugh... Makes me sick.

I'll have to agree with Chris here; and though I don't want to upset the lot of you already sick of that now dead 20K V8 thread, I chose to post this here to keep that thread dead and to support the idea that variety on a single chassis = big numbers in total = more potential for Ford to play...

05 GT Base Price of $26,900...

Built for life in Canada in the top corner of that link would be a clue. You can walk away with a GT in my area for about 22K. Do a search on cars.com - you can get an 03 Cobra for 27K - some dealers are selling verts at that price with a few miles on them. Z.

05 GT Base Price of $26,900...

Ford CA lists MSRP on the GT as starting at 31K http://ford.ca/main/default.asp?language=en&section=1&sVehCategory=FordCars&model=Mustang I don't really care what the MSRP is going to be on these cars. I care what I will be able to get one for from the dealer when they start selling them...

    The $20K V8 thread

Hmmm... Well, in the words of an infamous group - I'm a believer. There are a few things that have been said and at least one thing I see over looked here that I'll touch on. In 96 and in 98 I believe, Ford released the GT in a cut down trim level for under 20K. In 96 I assume this was to...
