What do you think of these wheels?

Doesn't American Racing make some pretty nice looking 5 spokes (similar to the torque thrust)? I'll have to check out my digital pix at home, I might even have a picture of a 67 FB GTA with them on it.

starter good, won't turn engine over

Sorry to hi-jack this thread, but since it is related, I wanted to ask. I have a 65 289 with 4 speed tranny (not sure exactly what type it is but I think it is a toploader). I don't know if it is original or if the car used to have an auto (data plate is missing). But the car starts fine...

What do you think of these wheels?

Dude, I still like the cragar knock offs. How much you want for them after you replace em? ;) P

New Springs - Now front end sits up too high

Well, I got the spring clamps on and they were just what doctor ordered!!! The car sits perfectly now. I forgot to measure the before height until after I had one side done. After how much of a pain in the ass it was to get them on I wasn't about to take them back off just to measure...

    what will remove this

Maybe that would be the ticket for YellowMach69 too. Unfortunately, I don't know what all of the original features of the car. I don't know if the transmission is original, the interior either. Ford doesn't keep records of any numbers past '67. Bummin'

New Springs - Now front end sits up too high

I put all new coils, leafs, and shocks last fall. I have been driving it quite a bit. I figure that they should have settled by now. Worst case scenario I will take the springs out and cut them down with a cut-off wheel on my grinder, but for now I went to Checker and got some "Coil Spring...

New Springs - Now front end sits up too high

I figure this will lower itself with time as the springs settle, but I've had them on for about 6 months now and still sit up higher than I'd like it to. Are there any kind of clamps a guy can put on the coils to shorten them about an inch or so? Thanks - P

    export brace & rocker moldings

Just bought an export brace online. Looks like it goes under the shock tower shock mounts. What's there now are the stock braces on my 65 fastback. My question is can you put the export brace right over the top of the existing braces since they bolt on to a bracket that is welded to the...

    Puttin' her away

Let's hear some tips for winter storage. Is it worth putting up on jack stands to give the springs longer life? Otherwise just add Stabil to the tank and fill it up with gas and park it?

To sway or not to sway?

...sitting back, watching the thread, and having a beer... So far pretty convinced not to sway.

To sway or not to sway?

I had an export brace on my 67 T5 when I was back in college. Just have the stock braces on each side. Maybe I'll do the export brace and still have some bucks left for beer. :p

    Transformation of a crapbucket:Volume 1

I had frozed eye bolts on both of mine (sledge hammer had no effect at all) but 8" C-clamp pressed mine out with no problem. Put one end of C clamp on threads side of bolt and a deep well socket (at least or bigger than the size of the bolt's head over the head and the other end of the C clamp...

To sway or not to sway?

Good info. I saw the historic site that said he prefers no sway bar, but I don't plan on doing any drifting... I really like how it rides right now. How much beer could I buy if I didn't spend the $ on a rear sway bar setup? :D

To sway or not to sway?

Just put on some new front sway bar end links and bushings and it really improved the handling - best $12 I ever spent!!! My car doesn't have a rear sway bar. I'm wondering will I feel even more handling improvements if I add a rear sway bar? If so, are they easy to add? I'm not going...

    Brake/Clutch Bezel trouble

Ended up getting them on. I found out that if you put the most pointed corner on first it works best. Seems logical now that I'm typing it... Then I used some of those quick-grip clamps to "press them on". I would like to say that the reproduction bezels are pretty junky. Don't think I...
