    Ed Curtis Cam guys

First cam took 2.5 weeks, second cam took ONE week! I'm ridiculously pleased with my cam in comparison to all the other H/C/I 5.0L's I've experienced.

Opinions on painting valve covers and intake

Thats a good point. A flat black would look OK though, but color should be shiny

Opinions on painting valve covers and intake

Thanks for the pic, I was hoping to go with green or black. Nice to see what it looks like under the hood.

Opinions on painting valve covers and intake

Awesome, mind if I ask how much it costs?

Opinions on painting valve covers and intake

I had planned on leaving the raised letters and ribs on the intake and valve covers silver, thought that would look cool.

High flow Intakes under stock hood

That has been my experience as well. With FMS tall valve covers I had to run a 3.5" cowl hood, 1" spacer on the intake and 3 intake gaskets.

Opinions on painting valve covers and intake

I have my intake and heads off to shave them 0.020" Have a friend that painted my car and I was thinking maybe I could paint my intake and valve covers? Possibly even the AFM power pipe. I'm getting new Ford Racing ribbed valve covers (only thing that will fit under the Holley). My...

Quick Question, vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator

What I have learned over time, and my Dad has confirmed is that anything after the throttle body is running pretty much the same amount of vacuum. Thats where you want to run the line to. If you think I'm lying, then just hook a vacuum gauge up to different areas of the intake and show me a...

    Stock 5.0 block limits

There are a few guys that I know of in the NMRA Pure Street class making over 400rwhp in a NA 306 revving over 7000rpm. But those cars are strickly drag cars so they don't see alot of miles. Sorry if I hijack the thread, but how does the block strength of the Dart compare to the Boss block?

K-member swap with engine in car

I'm thinking of doing this to lighten up my car this winter. A local guy is selling an AJE k-member for my car for cheap, and I'll have the time to put it in this winter. I'm a little scared to mess around with the front end and suspension. I'm assuming this isn't just a simple bolt in and...

Help with new radio deck for Mach 460

So the deck has more power than the amps? I thought I was using them together right now. I'm really dumb when it comes to this electronics stuff. I currently have an Alpine CDA 9883 (18 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels)

Help with new radio deck for Mach 460

I spliced all the wires together just like the instructions said and the radio didn't work. I was later told through Crutchfield that I had to splice a blue wire from the connector to the "remote" wire on the deck to power the amplifier. I had to move the blue wire over one slot. Maybe I got...

Help with new radio deck for Mach 460

Cool, so new wires will make a noticeable difference in sound quality?

Dyno Comprison LS1 vrs 5.0 Combos

I remember reading on hardcore50.com (NOT 50hardcore.com) that the LS1 has the potential to make more power because of its cylinder head design. This was coming from the guys that put together heads and cams for a living. Also, I think its hard to compare flow numbers between different...

Help with new radio deck for Mach 460

Just bought/installed my new alpine deck. Everything went well except for the stupid antanae. Can anyone suggest a good set of speakers for the rear and front that will complement my alpine and stock amplifiers? I don't want to get too involved with re-wiring the whole car.

    Valve cover clearance issue

I have a 1" spacer with 3 gaskets sealed together to fit over my FMS tall valve covers. I grinded away a small part on the alternator to get the valve covers to fit, do a search on here for pics. I ditched the EGR so thats not in the way.

    Dyno #'s Systemax/FTI cam/TW heads

Agreed. I know several top runners in the NMRA Pure Street are running LS valve train on their Ford heads.
