    Engine rebuild advice please

Here is my suggestion after a few rebuilds. Buy a rebuilt long or shot block from a reputable manufacturer that has experience like D.S.S., Livernois, or any of the reputable dealers. Be real careful letting general machine shops that are local do it. 3 rebuilds later, I learned my lesson the...

    Tires!

My suggestion after using several manufacturer tires on my mustang is that the best all around tire is a Toyo TR1. I've raced with them up to 180mph and used them on the street for 20K miles. The are comfortable and are absolutely the best tire I have used. I'm comparing them against Kumho...

    Scored cams only right head

I know that after a 30 minute run at 5000rpm's or more, I had the two middle pistons on the passenger side totally destroyed. The rings were melted or totally gone and the cylinders were scarred with burn marks. The oiling system of the engine leaves a little to be desired.

    Heater Cores Blowing Up

Thanks guys. I'll check the factory hose out and see if there is something different about either of these hoses.

    Heater Cores Blowing Up

I have the restrictor in there and it's on the correct side but thank you for the suggestions.

    will this work

I would suggest staying with the 2v and sticking a turbo or s/c on it. you can get 600+ HP on a 2v so unless you want to stay N/A, that would be easier than a 4v conversion. Keep in mind that air conditioning and other accessories don't fit.

    Heater Cores Blowing Up

Will this cause failures within 2 weeks?

    Heater Cores Blowing Up

I've been through 3 heater cores in a month on my GT. I added a bypass hose around it with T-connectors and that only worked for a week. Any idea on how the pressure can build up so high that the heater cores are leaking yet there is no other problem in the cooling system that I can find...

Aftermarket rotors or all new brake system?

I've got a lot of experience with the cobra rotors and calipers. For the most part, they are fine for most driving but they are still 2-piston calipers. My suggestion is to then get Powerslot rotors and a harder pad such as EBC or one of the other performance pads. This way when the pads are...

    Cobra R rotors warped

I have the same brakes but haven't run them yet. However, I will tell you that without adequate cooling, they will warp faster than a solid roter. The rotors supplied with the brakes are are street roters. I don't know what type of pads are on there but I suspect they are street pads also...

    heater core leak!

I've gone through 3 of them in 2 months and I'm my new one is starting to leak too. No problems for 5 year, then heater cores start leaking. I've even got a bypass on the heater core to reduce pressure and I'm still blowing them. Any ideas?

Excessive Play in Steering column after road race practice

When I go onto the track, the steering feels fine. During the practice session, the steering good but when I come off the track, the steering wheel has more play than normal. 30 minute later, it seems to be fine again. Is that a problem with the seals in the rack, the pump itself, or just...

Seats that work with the electric adjustment

This isn't a full race car in the sense of gutted interior, no passenger seats, etc... I race it in Silver State Classic so in that environment, I have a passenger. I researched this heavily so when I use the term racing seat, I'm referring to a street comfortable (I don't like leather due to...

    Tremec TR6060

I'm hoping that D&D will get it worked out pretty quick. The tranny is designed for more horsepower than the T-56 plus more synchros in the key 2 and third gear area. The car is over 400hp now and I'm going to put it in the 550 range at the rear wheel over the next couple of weeks.

Seats that work with the electric adjustment

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. I have a power GT seat in my car now. The passenger side is manual so that's not an issue. What I want to do is put in a good adjustable racing seat that will work with the existing power adjustable seat. I have a 5-point harness in there so I need a...

Seats that work with the electric adjustment

Thank you. However, at $2400 each, I'm thinking I can live with a manual seat.

Seats that work with the electric adjustment

I want to put in racing seats that I can adjust up and down. Can't do that with manual seats.

    Tremec TR6060

If we can get a viper tranny on a mustang and the new vipers are using the 6060, I'm thinking someone will figure out what's needed to get it to work.

Does anyone have a better seat that works with the electric height adjustment?
