Suspension + Brakes = road noise?

Thanks for the replies! I was ready for an increase in road noise but the volume here is beyond my expectations, especially after speaking to the tech at MM who said you could hardly notice it with Flowmasters (soon to be exchanged for Magnaflows). Still, it seems to be coming out of the...

Suspension + Brakes = road noise?

I just finished my 5 lug conversion (THANKS to Mike and everyone else for chiming in on my previous thread!!) and here's what I had installed: PBR loaded calipers 13" rotors SN95 spindles and hubs from junkyard MM braided front lines Russell rear braided line 2003 Bullitt wheels...

Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500

The negs I found were focused on the Wide Oval not the WO Indy 500. Check out the reviews at tirerack.com for the Indy 500s.

Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500

These tires have gotten a lot of positive reviews. It seems as though Firestone fixed the problems with the previous generation Wide Ovals. How do you like yours so far?

    Camshaft question

Why not go for 1.72 roller rockers? I have them and my car idles smoothly and seems to have a little more than it did before. Then again I'm 22 years older than you so I don't need to wave the flag.

    BUYER BEWARE-CJ PONY PARTS!!!!!

I placed an onine order with CJ last weekend and needed a few things that weren't on their catalog. I called Monday, spoke with someone who was perfectly friendly over the phone, built out my order and it arrived today. No problems here, in fact with their 10% off sale I'm going to pick up a...

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

newtakeoff.com has a set of Bullitt wheels for 2005 - 2009 in 17 x 8. No offset listed. Will these work? I'm having a hell of a time finding pre 2005 Bullitts in good shape. Do these things come with curb rash or what??

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

Thanks for the info. I'm still rooting around for parts but I'll def try that car-part.com site, T. Any thoughts about non-Ford wheels? I don't see any with 30mm but most are in the 27mm range. Is this enough to make a difference? I had a Contour for a daily driver back in the day and I...

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

THANKS for those pics LarsD. Can I assume you've got SN95 up front and SN95 axles out back? Standard 17x8 / 30mm Bullitts?

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

. Got it, but if I opt for the correct backspacing for fox axles I'm assuming I won't have the right backspacing for SN95 axles. I can deal with buying new axles later, but I can't sell the wifey on new wheels too. Only one thing is going to get blown, the budget or me... I am also...

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

Mike, Sorry for the 1,000 questions but I want to do this right the first time. So if I have SN95 spindles up front and fox length 5-lug axles out back, will I have the rear Bullitts buried in the fenders while the front are at the edges? I would like everything to look nicey-nice once...

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

I think I do want SN95 length axles to fill out the wheel wells. So if I end up with those (with the idea of moving to rear discs later), can I simply mount the 9" drums or will I need one set of axles for the drums, and a new set for the discs? And to confirm, I want pre 2005 17x9 Bullitts...

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

I definitely only want to do this once. I lust for the Bullitt style torque thrust wheels; gimme the anthracite with polished lip, Doc. For now I was going to go with SN95 spindles and 13" brakes/2 piston calipers. Except for the spindles I can duplicate all of this stuff relatively cheaply...
