    Freakin' MONEY Pit!!!

If you spent $400 on a balancer, i'd return it and get a less expensive one. Unless you're going to run an NHRA class that requires an SFI balancer, no need for it. Besides ebay has SFI balancers for a lot less, and non SFI for under a $100. Like we say with the race car: "Just throw more...

Chris Alston's Chassisworks 8pt roll cage

Yes, chrome-moly is stronger so you can run a thinner wall material. If you use chrome-moly, you'll have to find someone to tig weld it. Mig welding will make it brittle and highly susceptible to cracking.

    351C Timing Cover

Thanks D, but no luck there. There's plenty of 302-351w covers, but not the others.

    351C Timing Cover

Anyone know where to find a timing cover for a cleveland? I've looked through all my catalogs and online and haven't found one yet. Mine has an area directly behind the water pump thats almost rusted through. I really don't want to put it back on. Thanks

    TDC and distributor question!

Remove #1 plug, put your finger over the hole and bump the motor over until you feel the compression push your finger away. Stop there and look for the timing marks on the balancer. Be sure you have the timing tab installed first. Then either bump the starter or move it with a breaker bar to...

Will a distributor from a 460 work in the 351C? From everything i've seen, it looks like it will. Thanks

    Problems installing B&M shifter

I've got a Hurst V-matic shifter in mine. I moved mine back behind the opening for the original shifter because i wanted it closer to me, instead of having to reach so far for it. My shifter cable runs through that opening, down the right side of tranny, then towards the rear and back up the...

    Stall converter?

In just normal driving you probably won't notice much difference from a stock converter with a 2000 stall. The extra stall really doesn't do much until you stall it against the brakes. We had a 5800 stall in our super gas car and you could drive it around the pits just like normal. We have a...

    drip rail molding help needed

I used the old style bottle opener. I wasn't worried about dinging mine since i was planning on new ones, but you could put a rag under the opener if yours are in good shape. Just clip the opener on the underside and lift, just like taking a bottle cap off.

New Trunk weatherstrip...How does it go?

I found the following info at mustangmonthly.com: "Both the hood and the decklid have seals as well. Decklid seals should be installed using 3M’s Super Weatherstrip Adhesive as explained earlier. The seal’s mouth (groove) should be pointed inward, never outward. It should be attached to the...

    Heater hose fittings for 351C

I'll give that a shot later. I figured if the mustang stores don't have them, they'd be hard to find. Oh well, so much for logic. thanks

    Heater hose fittings for 351C

I'm not having much luck finding the fittings that go in the water pump and block. The one for the block looks like it presses in (no threads). I've tried NPD, mustangs unlimited, mustangsplus, cal mustang and sacramento mustang with no luck. NPD has one listed for a 351c but no info or...

    351C questions

I've got the adjuster bracket, so maybe i'll dig some of my aluminum plate out and start making one. What about the heater hose fittings for the water pump and block? I'll start digging thru my catalogs and see if anyone has them. Thanks

    351C questions

Thanks for the replies everyone. The boat was in fresh water only and doesn't look too bad under the thermostat housing. The headers i'm looking at are the hookers made for a 67 with 351C. My friend gave me another water pump, block plate, flex plate and couple other odds/ends. The water...

    351C questions

Well, i just unloaded the 351C and put it on the stand. The plugs looked good that came out of it. The bearings are ford standard and still look good, just a little bit of specks from dirt. From what i could tell of the cylinders from the bottom they look pretty good. Pulled a few of the...

    351C questions

Its the 4V and was in a jet boat. My friend started it up and ran it for awhile before he bought it and said there was no smoke or any strange noises. He also pulled the pan to check for 4 bolt mains, but its a 2 bolt, and he said its very clean inside. I trust him since i've known him and...

    351C questions

A friend of mine has a complete, carb to pan, 70 351C that i can pick up reasonably and it runs quite good, no smoke, etc. This would be going into my 67 coupe with '72 C4. Any issues with this setup and any input appreciated as far as the cleveland goes. Thanks
