With such a mild buildup why run a Performer RPM intake? Just get a regular performer or Typhoon [same as Edel Performer??] or a Cobra intake... The 351 heads.... Do you have them already? Are they rebuilt? Ported or anything done to them? I ask because if you havwe to refurbish them...

which alum heads are a close to stock bolt on?

REally? Any of you AFR guys been told the same thing? I wouldn't put that many miles on it in one or two summers.. BUT... I drive my car daily... roadtrips, etc.. from April to November each year, and It wouldn't take me all that long to wrack up 65000 KMs [40000 miles]... Kinda weird...

Yeah, can anyone explain why AFRs need to be freshened up like stated above? Seems odd seeing as how they are a brand new head with what seems to be an excellent rep...

which alum heads are a close to stock bolt on?

Thanks alot for the responses! My plans for now are to stick with the stock camshaft and just do a 1.7 or 1.72 rocker. For a few reasons: 1st reason is liking the smooth idle and the fact that its gonna get a full rebuild next winter anyways so why spend $$$ and tear the shortblock somehwat...

    Draglites flexing/making noise?

When I bought my car it had Draglites. [skinny fronts]. And they were a few years old. About 3 months after I bought the car, it would tick when turning a slow corner right or left... you could hear it with the windows down... tick tick tick and then straighten the car out and the noise would...

which alum heads are a close to stock bolt on?

Migth end up with a bit more cash then I expected come tax time. Thinking I 'might' go for a set of aluminum heads. The weight reduction off the front is a good thing too... I'm wondering... Are there any that are a stock replacement bolt on as far as not having to change...

    For ppl in the 13's

25thmustang - same here. I have bone stock suspension but removed front sway bar, and the day I ran the 13.1s I had 1 working original rear shock and 1 broken one [no damping whatsoever - pull it in and out effortlessly]. I now have new stock relacement stockers in the rear and the car even...

    Transmission fluid for the T-5

Redline MTL The viscosity on the bottle says its consistent with that of gear oil, but it looks and pours just like automatic trans fluid. I've read of alot of people using it with good results. I know with mine, I put this new T5 Z in and it was notchy, even after a few thousand KM...

    For ppl in the 13's

I checked out your GT, the suspension setup is killer! NIce car. The street tire times I have were from way back when I first bought this car. I went in the spring of 2002, and it still had the 3.08s in it, and the stock T body, but had the MAF, pulleys, subframes and stuff. I went 13.8...

    For ppl in the 13's

Not sure how I should take that... but it seemed directed at me. I think 25th Mustang runs ET Streets? [same as ET Drags pretty much] if I remember correctly from another post a while back.. Next time i'll try for a 12.90 or something. I never said my car was spectacular, I wasn't...

    For ppl in the 13's

13.11 @ 102 MPH. Just basic stuff. 15* timing, 3.73s, 73mm MAF 65mm T body, Mac equal shorties, subframes, UD pulleys, M/T 26x8.5 ET Drags.. Motor from intakes to pan is stock with about 100000 miles, has stock 4 cat H pipe [cats arent hogged] as well.

Ehlp me spend 1000 to 1500 dollars on my 86 GT

Careful what heads you put on.... I've seen GT 40s mentioned but can you run them on the flat top piston shortblocks that are in the 86s? I seem to remember some sort of Trick Flow heads being able to work... If it were mine... You could go with some worked stock valve size [Thumper] E7s...

    New track times

You guys with Capris.. :nice: :hail2: If you ever go to a Ford event where they are running the "Renegade" class, a guy here in town competes in that class. Its a Canyon Red [we all bug him and call it the "Orange Capri"] 1986 Capri RS with "Supercharged" emblems from a Riviera where the...

    Oil in intake...

I still owe Micheal Yount for explaining how this PCV stuff works to me last fall. :hail2: See, I bought a 65mm T body that does not have the provision on it for that tube that runs from the T body to the oil fill tube on the valve cover. So, I simply blocked off the fill tube. No biggie...

    New track times

My guess with the parts below? I'm no guru but i'll try based on what cars i've seen with similar buildups around here. Can we trade the DRs for a set of ET Drags? Whats your car weigh? With a 1.8 60' it will run 12s somewhere. I'd rather predict MPH as thats going to happen regardless of...
