    Electrical Lifepo4 Battery Replacement

1.56 lb battery started the car easily on less than a full charge (13.3 out of 14.4 Volts). Voltage from the alternator was a little high, so I am going to add either a zener diode to reduce it, or a better regulator. The alternator is 7 years old. http://imgur.com/a/wRVy3#0

    Engine Egr Delete (conflicting Info)

Cool, I'm hoping to improve my tune, I'm currently getting some surge and stall issues at idle. The cold didn't seem to affect the car much last year without EGR passageways with the sensor plugged in. I'm talking about -28 F actual temp, not wind chill.

    Engine Egr Delete (conflicting Info)

Do I need vacuum lines going to the TAB/TAD and should they be disconnected as well? I have no Air Conditioning and no smog pump.

    Engine Egr Delete (conflicting Info)

Will disconnecting the vacuum line help the situation by letting the computer know there is no vacuum and therefore exhaust gasses going to the EGR?

    Engine Egr Delete (conflicting Info)

My intake doesn't have EGR runners. I have no emissions equipment. The EGR will not add exhaust gas to the mix. When open, the computer should think it's adding exhaust gas. That should alter the timing/mixture incorrectly. I need to disable this. Do I need a resistor for the EGR plug, or will...

Is It Okay To Flip Transmission Over?

If you have it out and are changing the fluid, drain it first. I don't think it will hurt it, but you could more of a mess than anything.

    Electrical Lifepo4 Battery Replacement

That is really nice, noobz347. That's an odyssey battery, which saves a bit of weight as well, but is still lead acid.

    Electrical Lifepo4 Battery Replacement

Fortunately, I'm not dealing with the low pressure, low temperature situation seen at altitude, and they're a different chemistry. LiFePo4 are the safest: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/possible_solutions_for_the_battery_problem_on_the_boeing_787 I am a little concerned with...

    Electrical Lifepo4 Battery Replacement

Looking to reduce weight a bit, I found some Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries with high CCA ratings. The difference in weight between them and my current battery is about 35lb. They can handle being charged by automotive alternators and temperatures down to -30C. The chemistry is safe and the...

Exhaust long tubes and the big starter

I switched to the mini starter for this reason, but you'll still want to protect your wires. As I learned recently, wrapping the headers causes them to rust out.

Exhaust Longtube headers that fit flowtech X-pipe.

I ordered another set, so I can get it fixed without fitment issues. Advice is still appreciated, since I'll be replacing these within the next 6 months. Are they any better if ceramic coated?

Engine Need a recommendation on exhaust manifold gasket. GT40-X

I found some gaskets that are several layers of aluminum, for a reusable and moldable seal. I got them at either autozone or advanced auto parts years ago, so I don't remember what brand. They had 1 5/8 port size and said that they would work on a mustang, and they did. Great ever since.

Exhaust Longtube headers that fit flowtech X-pipe.

    BTW , 1 3/4 - 3 inch headers would be preferred.

Exhaust Longtube headers that fit flowtech X-pipe.

Hey guys, I have Flowtech 1 5/8 - 3" Longtube Headers and the matching X-pipe. What other brand headers will fit with this x-pipe? They have gasket connections rather than ball/socket: X-pipe: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/big-53625flt/overview/year/1990/make/ford/model/mustang Headers...

Electrical E-fan... Pulls Sooo Much Amperage. Help?

I'm sure there's one that can handle more, is there any problem with it otherwise. The parts were from a quick search.

Electrical E-fan... Pulls Sooo Much Amperage. Help?

Jrichker and Stang& 2Birds, what do you guys think of that idea? I haven't actually built it, but do you think it's a valid alternative?

Electrical E-fan... Pulls Sooo Much Amperage. Help?

To be fair to Stangers, I built an electric motorcycle and that system has more individual electrical components than my entire motorcycle. I did buy the motor controller instead of building one though. Have you made one of these successfully? One way of lowering draw would be to step down...

Electrical E-fan... Pulls Sooo Much Amperage. Help?

There are a lot of ways to reduce the current or voltage (above stall voltage) available to the fans, with a simple switch controlled by the driver or by sensing the draw one circuit before allowing a second one to come on. Alternatively, if you have a Dual Fan setup, you can have them come on...

Header To H Pipe Bolt Torque?

Without mufflers, it's not going to get that much quieter, don't over-do it and break the studs. A good estimate would be 40-50 ft*lb, but I don't know the exact number. Lock washers can't hurt either for the final install.
