OIL PUMP SEIZES, BREAKING OIL PUMP SHAFT

While you're in there, might as well take a close look at the shear pin for the distributor gear. Mark my vote for a stock volume, quality oil pump and a good shaft.

67 fastback with 8.8, cobra rear disc and 15 inch magnum500

Here is a picture of mine. There is a red "pencil" line I drew where I did the bending. When I showed my friend, he couldn't tell I bent them, until I showed him the line. Sorry this picture and line aren't better. I'm photogenically challenged :D Anyway, I hope this helps you.

67 fastback with 8.8, cobra rear disc and 15 inch magnum500

For the Fox rear end install, you don't have to trim them. On mine I "tweaked" them by hand just a bit , where it sweeps across the rotors near the caliper. You really can't even tell where I did this. The rest of the shield is larger than the rotor. Man, I forgot all about doing that. I...

67 fastback with 8.8, cobra rear disc and 15 inch magnum500

I just saw what 96DOHC Cobra is saying, and he is correct. Markus, if your shields are mounted up like the pictures in row 8 and 9, they are on backwards. The picture at the end of row 6 is correct. I'm sorry, I only looked at the picture at the end of row 6. I would change them. The...

What to wrap wiring conduit with?

Wire wrap tape is very different from electrical tape. I'd suggest picking up the correct stuff. Once you get the wires gummy, it's a pain in the arse to get it clean again.

67 fastback with 8.8, cobra rear disc and 15 inch magnum500

The install on Markus, and my car, is as per the instructions for the North Racecar brackets. To mount them on the other side of the steel bracket would move them 1/4" further away than necessary. From about 1,500 miles of evaluation, they seem to work very well in this orientation...

67 fastback with 8.8, cobra rear disc and 15 inch magnum500

Hi Markus, Beautiful car, and great install on the rear. Probably the e-brake will not get better with time. I found on my conversion, that I had to go through the entire system and make it work as best as possible. I made a few changes to limit the friction in the cables, and maximize the...

EFI blower conversion done - Off for a Dyno tune now!

Yeah Baby! That's a great start! Man, you just made my evening! So now my G.F. is going to be wondering why I have a Cheshires cat grin at dinner tonight. Right on man!

EFI blower conversion done - Off for a Dyno tune now!

That fitting shouldn't be an outlet, unless you have excessive blow-by like Bosscat was saying. You do want a filter on it though. It's really the clean air intake for the crankcase, so that your PCV will work correctly. I haven't looked at the car since I got it back after it was stolen...

For anyone thinking about buying Patriot heads....

Any chance these things are coming out of China? Not to knock China, but I've lived through horror on chinese QC at a company I used to work for. It's just all over the place. Statistical analysis becomes like String Theory.

EFI blower conversion done - Off for a Dyno tune now!

At 4K rpm, you are just getting into boost. There should be plenty more left with that combo. Injector slopes, breakpoints, Maf slopes, timing curves, it all starts making a big difference. So once the mechanicals are out of the way, I am sincerely hoping you are blown away... no pun...

EFI blower conversion done - Off for a Dyno tune now!

Hope you aren't discouraged. First time Dyno is like First time at the drags. Unless you've weeded out all the problems and done the initial tuning yourself, it always seems disapointing. You'll get there, although you may need to *encourage* your tuner. I agree with Red65. Check the plug...

Which system provides a crisper, more accurate timing signal - Unilite or Pertronix?

If the car is stock, you're really not going to excersize either one. Unless you end up with a high resistance issue on the secondary side, you shouldn't see more than 15KV at the plug. Unilite is digital, where Pertronix is A/C Volt sine wave converted to digital. But the "real world"...
