That sucks! If it hasn't been taken to mexico I hope the worthless piece of trash that stole is found, and beat with in an inch of death

Sorry to hear this, but know how it feels. In December 1997, my white '89 GT was stolen in Little Rock, Arkansas.
I had a 30-day wait afterwards, with my insurance company, in case the '89 GT was recovered --which, it wasn't. While I was waiting for the 30 days to pass, I went looking at a lot of other Fox GTs to replace it. Many of them were dogged out, but luckily I found this one only 30 miles from where I lived at the time: [except it didn't have the Cervinis cowl hood or LX tailights on it when I bought the '90 GT]

At the time my '89 was stolen, I was (understandably) furious, but as it turned out I ended up with an even better GT than what I had, so it worked out for the best.

Similar story here. My '68 coupe was stolen in september. If I ever found the guy who did it, I'd torture him. Car theft should be a capitol crime. They used to hang horse thieves, why not car thieves. You steal a car you are potentially stealing a person's lively hood.

Hate to hear things didn't go your way in your particular case. Things wouldn't have really gone my way in my case either, if I had just simply accepted my insurance company's (Farm Bureau's) first offer. They called me to come back a couple of days later for their second settlement offer. The settlement price IS negociable.

Glad to hear your car came back without too much damaged incurred. All that was left to be found of mine was a little bit of the driver's side door glass I found on the ground in the parking spot where I had last left my '89 GT. I'm sure once it was stolen, it went straight to a chop shop.
If you have a means to disable the ignition and/or fuel pump, it makes it a lot harder for someone to drive off with it. The next trick with that is locating a place that a thief would not easily and quickly find the arming/disarming means for them.

There are few truly difficult cars to steal. Classics are by far the easiest and what's worse, it doesn't have to be the neighborhood chop shop stealing them either. The VINs on classics are easily frauded out.
