Bad Vibrations

This is what I am thinking. The pilot bearing seemed okay but it was a quick clutch replacement. Had to replace the clutch due to a collapsed spring. Flywheel was okay, smooth as a baby's butt and well within spec. LocTite on all bolts. I guess I learn to rebuild a T-10 :bang: :bang:

    Bad Vibrations

1965 A block 4 speed. Replaced the rearend with an Auburn about 18 months ago. Replaced the clutch and u-joints about one year ago. When I begin to drive I get horrible shaking and have to ride the clutch. In any gear I occasionally have to push in the clutch to eliminate the vibration...

    valve adjustment question...

I do not like what you just described. Set the engine to TDC. Pull your distributor cap and the rotor should be at one o'clock. Look at the distributor lobe and the points. That should be number one. Adjust #1 valves. Turn the engine until the points get to the next lobe on the...

    Posi Kits

I agree with the starter relay being the problem. Rear ends are not that cheap. You can go to a Spicer distributer and buy the parts but without the tools and knowledge......... :nonono: At a shop, Traction-Loc should be around $600 all the way up to the Auburn at $900.

Engine sputters and stalls like out of gas

All I am stating is look at the obvious. You tilted the car forward so your primary jets maybe sucking air if the floats are too low. Same with your sender unit if it is in the wrong place. When you state Motorcraft I am assuming an 4100????? This will require you to remove the top of the...

    Rear Leaf Springs

I have the original springs on the Mustang. I do not have any wheel hop issues??? I re cammed it and all it will do at WOT is spin both tires. It did it to me at 25 mph in second gear. Maybe mine are sagging so much they allow this?????

Engine sputters and stalls like out of gas

I think you guys have missed the obvious. New rear leaf springs!! So now the car is sitting higher in the back. The PO put a 4bbl setup on it. And a new tank. So I would check the float levels on the carb while I rebuilt it!!! I would pull the sender unit and verify that it is...

dumb + first gear = 2 flat tires and some bushes

My starter keeps coming loose on my 65. Why I do not know. I put a 512 lift RV cam in my A block (4 speed) which was actually smaller than the stock cam but had much more duration. So at 20 mph the light turned green. Second gear and on the floor, the posi took me across three lanes in...

    Need Help from 65 Owners

No pictures but here we go! On the driver's side rear carb bolt is a bracket to which the spring attaches to the throttle rod. Nothing special. The rod then hooks into the 4100 with a clip which is very much like the door handle rod clip. Really very simple if it is all factory parts.

    OT: Need help

Replaced the fuel pump and filter. Changed the mass air flow sensor and both engine relays. NO CHANGE!! My guess is the O2 sensor or the throttle body sensor. Something is telling the ECU to shut down the injectors. As far as codes, I can not find a book which tells me anything :notnice:

    Cruise to Mars

Just so someone can break it. Fresno PD allowed all pre-1974 vehicles to cruise Fresno with police escort on Thursday July 22, 2004. It just qualified for the Guiness Book of Records. The police shut down most of the downtown area at 6 pm. 310 cars left downtown in a line 7 miles long...

    '66 289 carburetor dilemma

My guess is that you have a C block. There is nothing wrong with that as most early Mustangs had that engine. What is your intention with the car? Do you want a reliable car or a HOTROD? Money is the only difference. I agree with D. Stay 2BBL. I have 312000+ miles on my 65 A block 4 speed...

The power supply for your blinkers come throught the flasher. The problem is in your steering column. I went through this myself. Go to www.vamustang.com and go to page 39. Part number IN-467 for $39.95 will fix the problem. The repo is $23 but   Good luck!! :nice:
