Bad Vibrations

1965 A block 4 speed.

Replaced the rearend with an Auburn about 18 months ago. Replaced the clutch and u-joints about one year ago.

When I begin to drive I get horrible shaking and have to ride the clutch. In any gear I occasionally have to push in the clutch to eliminate the vibration and the car is smooth after that.

Clutch going bad was my first thought, but I think it might be the tranny. It is original with 345,000 miles on it.

Ideas on how to identify what is going on before I tear the car apart??

when you replaced the clutch, did you replace the pilot bushing? if not, that and a worn input shaft bearing can cause a vibration as they would conspire to allow the clutch disc to fall off center when shifting.

This is what I am thinking. The pilot bearing seemed okay but it was a quick clutch replacement. Had to replace the clutch due to a collapsed spring.

Flywheel was okay, smooth as a baby's butt and well within spec. LocTite on all bolts.

I guess I learn to rebuild a T-10 :bang: :bang:
