    Console project.. with pics!

A few weeks ago I decided to make a console for my stang since I didn't have a dedicated space to put my cellphone, coins, switches, etc. So I started this project with one thing in mind and that is "saving in materials", not because I am cheap, but I am saving to buy suspension mods which...

    1967 Cobra??

:rlaugh: been there! Down to business.. as a matter of fact there where "Cobra coupes", to be more specific, 26 Shelby Trans Am GT 350 coupes were made in 1967, but to my understanding they didn't appear in the US market. (I dont know if thats what you where asking BlwnGazkit, I dont want to...

    Stock Alt, recommendations for Replacement

I have been thinking making this swap too, but I don't understand a thing: my car has a voltage regulator that doesn't seem stock, well I really don't know, either way, what happens to the wires going to the voltage regulator? they need to be connected to the new alt? or they just dissappear?

    Roller springs perches

I haven't used them, but I have read a lot about it and theres nothing more than great reviews about them. There is a lot of info in the forum, use the search feature. Check post #11 for technical stuff: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=699249

    heater motor wiring

One of the wires goes to the fuse panel and the other one to the resistors in the heater box, as shown in the diagram. I really don't know which one goes to which connector, when I connect mine the original wires were gone so it was a trial and error thing.

Ok what do I do now

You need quite a few things when doing the I6 to V8 conversion. To my understanding you need: suspension, as xoxbxfx said brakes, V8 cars use 5 studs rear end motor and frame mounts gas pedal linkage fuel line and I don't know if the steering needs to be replace as well.

    3 point seatbelts

There are some very informative threads about this, do a quick search. For what I can remember, its better to mount them in the roof, because it wouldnt compress your spine in a accident. I bought mine from here: http://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo.net/resebe.html for 69.95 each, and you...

    steering shaft movement

Thanks a lot for your help, now I can start searching that spring. :D I did search "rack and pinion" posts, as you mention, and it seems that its a very nice upgrade; too bad it isn't on my budget, but I definitively will add it to the upgrade list.

    steering shaft movement

I haven't thought about it, that could fix the play. But does the bushing looks normal? by seeing the picture it looks like its broken, or thats the way it is?

    steering shaft movement

Yes, thats basically my problem, I took this picture a few weeks ago when I replaced the steering wheel. The back arrows indicate the directions where the shaft can be moved. I tried to search in some mustang suppliers web pages to see if I could find it, but I don't even know the name of that...

    steering shaft movement

Since I bought the car a few months ago, the steering shaft has had some play and it doesnt feels normal, it feels like a bushing is worn or missing. In fact I dont have a turn signal switch, could that be the thing that allows the play between the shaft and the column? As a sidenote, I will...

    1968 console stereo

Yeah, its pretty easy to retrofit a modern (single DIN) stereo in the 67-68 radio bezel, you just need a dremel and a cutting disc :D . About a month ago I installed mine, I just needed to trim slightly the bottom of the stereo rectangular trim, here is a pic:
