    Harmonic balancer.

My local parts store sells the Pioneer brand. Do you suggest I go with that? I just busted the drivetrain on the truck. So it will be down for a week while I order new parts. So now I'm in no rush.

    Straight pipes

5.0 Mustang magazine did a test of the most popular mufflers on the market. At the same time they tested open pipes. The straight pipes made the least power, and were of course the loudest. So there was no advantage for that setup to run without mufflers. There are engine setups where straight...

    Harmonic balancer.

I think my balancer is gone. It's 15 years old, so no surprise there. I get a vibration most of the time at around 2300 rpm's, neutral or in gear. So it must be the balancer. The vibration is slight to heavy. It varies day to day, which puzzles me. I think the balancer is slipping. No idea...

Flowmaster Force II Vs. American Thunder... whats the difference?

I run Hooker MAXFlow mufflers. I don't have any noticeable drone. But they are a bit of a raspy muffler. More so when they are new. And they are a straight thru design.

    Best street clutch set-up?????

I vote SPEC all the way. Maybe a stage 2. That will allow room to grow, and still have a stock feel. Only it won't slip. :D Too many people say the King Cobra is stiff.

What kind of power increase am I looking at?

Ok, but still go with the GT40's right? I can get them at a decent price. I was going to do a whole valve job and refresh on them anyway, that is why I was thinking of larger valves. And now I need to look for a TB as well. Thanks

What kind of power increase am I looking at?

I dynoed at 225rwhp and 290rwtrq. I have mildly ported heads with 1.84 intake valves. And a full exhaust. More details in sig. I plan on going with GT-40 heads, not the 'P's. And an explorer intake along with 1.7 roller rockers. Not sure if I can get a new TB for what I want to spend, but I am...

    Ladder bar help.

Bump... is there another forums this should be under?

    Ladder bar help.

Well. I just put some ladder bars on the Ranger to help with axle wrap. But I have a few questions. I had to make the attachment point of the bars rather high, because I do drive a 4x4, and there was no way I was having bars hang a foot below the frame, so the lower bar would be parallel with...

Does Boring an Engine Add any HP?

Not really. What it does is unshroud the valves so they can flow with less restriction. Most 5.0 heads don't really have this problem. So the biggest reason is to build an engine with a fresh bore and hone on your cylinders. This make for a clean rebuild. The new modular engines see more of an...

    Cost to rebuild a T5?

$1100 is coming close to what it would take to get a GForce in there. $950 -heavy duty gear set $165 -small parts kit (bearings synchros) $1-200 -26 spline clutch disc You can get a new gear set for $3-500 from Hanlon or D&D. A rebuild kit, like the GForce small parts kit, is about...

    Cost to rebuild a T5?

I'm guessing $3-400 in parts depending on were you get them and exactly which ones you need. It may be less. Who is going to do the labor?

    Experienced Welders Come In

Adjust the power for the thickness you are welding. Obviously less power for thinner stuff. Then adjust the speed so it kind of sounds like bacon frying. I too am an amateur welder (3-5 years now). But this is the best advice I have been given.

    t-5 bearing retainer install?

Ahhh. If you only want to pull the retainer, have the tranny facing up. The weight of the input shaft will hold it in place, so you won't have to worry about loosing the needle bearings. If you want to pull the input shaft, the method I posted above, then face the tranny down, so all the...

Intakes designed to be smaller than heads??

This may be due to the wall thickness of the intake. There may not be much room to port, and they don't want you to port a hole in the intake. As for the general dicussion, the smaller ports may be for manufacturing. You have many companies making heads and intakes for 5.0's. Unless each one...

    t-5 bearing retainer install?

If you pull the input shaft, just rebuild the whole tranny. You may loose all the roller bearings, that are housed in the input shaft, into the tranny if you take it out with the tranny sitting on a table. It's best to leave the input were it is, and just replace the retainer. And you may need...

    Auto Meter gauges

Well, as far as the look with blue, I don't have a Mustang, so I'm not sure. But for the red and green lights on the Autometers, there is a bulb in the back that lights up the gauge. To change the color, you put a tinted rubber 'button' over the light. So, to go with a white colored light...

What horror stories on the GForce? I have not had problems yet. Inform me so I know what to look for.

Suggest a Clutch/Flywheel. Centerforce DF. or Spec STG3

How about the SPEC stg 2/3 hybrid. It uses the stage 3 pressure plate, but has a multi-compound disc. One side is the stage 3 6-puck design, while the other side has a stage 2 kevlar surface. It has the same ultimate holding power of the stage 3 SPEC, but won't jar the driveline as bad. I run...
