    So I take my '01 Gt to a tranny shop 'cause it wont go into 1st unless I was stopped and 2nd gear would be notchy to shift and sometimes pop out of gear. The daignosis was bad syncros. So the tranny rebuild ended up costing $1900 Cdn. But the a-holes at Lubrico warranty aren't paying for $960...

    Identifying transmissions

    Just did some research and found out that when you look at the VIN tag on the driver's side door jamb look for the TR (transmission) section. A 5 in the slot means t-45, a K means 3650. I bought the car and it's lots of fun. :SNSign:

    I'm looking at an '01 gt right now to replace my 88 lx and I was wondering how to tell if it has the t-45 or the tremec 3650. Do I look at the tranny from below or should I just check the build date on the VIN? If so, what month did they change over to the tremec? Thanks.

    I have heard of roller cams eating dristributor gears and vice versa. You have to use a bronze gear or something. Maybe give CompCams a call for their input.

    Pretty sure some of you might like this

    gears don't increase horsepower, they only multiply torque better. As far as the mufflers I saw a 15 - 20 rwhp increase on a 99 cobra because the mufflers were so restrictive they were better suited to a Lincoln than a musclecar.
