I have an 88 coupe and lately the car has been acting up and really pissing me off. When I drive the car It's jumping and popping and has no power and when I stop at traffic lights it will stall and It has to sit for a minute b4 it will start again. I've cleaned the Idle Air Control valve, and put in a new fuel filter. I just picked up a coil and a fuel pump relay for it and I'll probably check the codes on it this weekend. I'm thinking the fuel pump is overheating (although I can hear it working all the time) or the TPS is out of whack (set it last fall, but might need to be set again). The odd thing is that it did it once when the car was cold too. It was sitting in the sun all day and when I was going to work it stalled when Idling and was popping and missing even when it was cold. WTF? Any help is appreciated.

You're on the right track - pull the codes and check the dizzy to see if the hold-down bolt loosened and let the timing walk.
Good luck.
