    1 of 50 consoles made????

Ok, I haven't been in this forum since I sold my 65' stang last year in August. I just found some floppys with pics of my car. Two years ago a friend of mine past away. He grew up during the muscle car era was a Ford die hard fan and mustang at that. He had owned 5 mustangs in his lifetime. He...

Mixing race gas and 92 octane?

Thanks for the replies. In that case, I'll just fill up with the usually 86 octane and advance my timing. Gonna give my friend the heads up on the advice before race day.

Mixing race gas and 92 octane?

A buddy and I plan on going racing Sept 25 and want to run some good times. I thought about mixing some race gas(103-106 octane)?? and 92 octane and bumping my timing from 10-14*. What are some suggestions if any on mixing the gas and timing? After the races, I'll set my timing back to...

    Running no belt at track???

Great pics and suggestions. I'll look into getting a short belt, but I doubt I'll get any pulleys. Thanks for the opinions! J.R.

    Running no belt at track???

I wouldn't mine running with a short belt either. I would love to have one that would bypass the smog, A/C, and P/S. Any suggestions on size? Any other opinions on running no belt for a couple of passes? Just to reply to questions like, "What do you have underneath the hood?" ...I would...

    Running no belt at track???

Don't know what happened to my earlier thread on the same topic, but here I go again. Can it be done? Are there any major problems in doing this besides cooling and charging? What are some improvements on times if doing this? Just curious b/c I've read in some threads of people making a...

Is it possible to hit 13,s with my mods?

It's possible. The best I have is in my sig with just exhaust and 3.73s on street tires. Elevation with air here made it to 4000ft + above sea level that night. Corrected my time should be high 13 at sea level. Now if I had some tire, times would definately go down.

    Update:Overheating problem!

Learn something every day. Well, I topped off the radiator, got her start. Took her around a couple of blocks and turned on the heater which was now on with it hitt 180*. Pulled in the driveway and let it run for a few minutes. I didn't see any leaks. Hopefully that will help. I rather just let...

    Update:Overheating problem!

Today I took off the t-stat housing, t-stat, and bypass hose off. Cleaned off the sealant and old gasket off the housing and manifold and made sure the surfaces were nice and clean. Put t-stat inside house, then stick the adhesive side of the gasket to the housing, cut my new bypass hose a...

    First Time At The Track

Those are good times for a starter. I remember taking my car to the track for the first time and it was less than a month for me behind a 5 speed. I only had 3.73s, O/R h-pipe, flows, and the elevation here is 3300ft above sea level with air making it b/t 3500-4000ft. My best time was 15.3 @...

    Update:Overheating problem!

Alright, I'll install it without the sealant on the opposite side to get me by for now. I'll look into ordering a new thermostat with a bledder valve. You guys are a great help. I'll let you guys know how it goes tomorrow. American Muscle Car competition is on Speed Channel. I'll be back...

    Update:Overheating problem!

Guess I'll just have to start it up, make sure no leaks, and just let it sit for the rest of the day. Guess I should have gotten the Mr. Gasket t-stat?

    Update:Overheating problem!

So I will put the t-stat in the housing, then the gasket with the adhesive sticking to the housing, put some sealant on the opposite side of the gasket. Align with the holes on the manifold and bolt it up. Check for leaks, add fluid, burp the air,all that good stuff. Then do I just let my car...

    Update:Overheating problem!

Ok, I'm looking at my Haynes manual and see a pic of a t-stat with the bleeder valve. I'm lookin at my old one right now and it doesn't have one, but it's just totally different from the aftermarket t-stat that I bought.

    Wheel Bearing...How to....

I think I may have the same problem. When I drive, you hear a squeling sound from the driver side rear. Maybe the brake shoes, but it started about 3-4 months ago. I've been just ignoring it, but I've been trying to fix the "little things" on my car such as putting a new radiator, t-stat, I want...

    Update:Overheating problem!

Ok, just went to two auto parts stores in search for gaskets. I bought a paper one with an adhesive back and another regular gasket, as well as Anit-Seize and a new bypass hose. The adhesive gasket seems to have an slighter larger diameter where the bypass hose passage way is at than the regular...

    Update:Overheating problem!

The aftermarket t-stat didn't have one and doesn't lock into place, it just sits there. I will need to also get some thread sealer. Oh yeah, which bolt is the long one? Upper or bottom? I know I have them in right.

    Update:Overheating problem!

I forgot to mention one more thing. Whenever I took off the t-stat last Saturday, it locks into the housing. The Ford Motorcraft t-stat that I bought months ago does lock into place and it just a bit smaller in diameter. I went to an auto parts store and they said it should still work and that...
