    Welp, the shaker is out.......

I am going through the same delima for my 393 on my 70 Mach. Look into using a big block base. They sat lower for the taller big block intakes. I too will be building blind. I am not sure it will work. I think I will stay with the AFR 185's and Weiand Stealth intake. I think the combo will...

AFR 205's and Dual Plane Intake on a 393 Stroker?

I never thought about milling the bottom end of the intake. If I could do that with th 205's and Vic Jr. and get enough clearance for the shaker, that is what I would do. Does removing material from the bottom of the intake cause problems. I would also use the big block base to get me even lower.

AFR 205's and Dual Plane Intake on a 393 Stroker?

I was thinking if I went with the 205's< I could also switch to the Vic Jr. The 205's come with the upgraded .600" lift springs. After paying around $1300 for 185's and paying the $200 upgrade for springs, I would be at $1500 for the 185's. I can buy the 205's for around $1650 and they come...

AFR 205's and Dual Plane Intake on a 393 Stroker?

Using the Vic Jr. is too tall for the shaker. The scoop will be sticking too far out from the hood. The Vic Jr. is for sure out of question.

AFR 205's and Dual Plane Intake on a 393 Stroker?

I have plugged different combo's into Desktop Dyno 2000. I understand that the software can be off a liitle. I found that using AFR 205's and a dual plane intake will make more than using AFR 185's. I need to stay with a Stealth or Performer RPM intake due to using a shaker on my engine...

    How accurate is Desktop Dyno2000?

I have been told with the limited amount of information that can be entered for the camshaft, Desktop Dyno2000 is just a game. Anyone have an opinion? Thanks.

    Help with camshaft recommendations.

These are the camshaft specifications that both Comp Cams and Cam Research gave me for the engine combo listed below. Remember the car is for the street, maybe sometimes strip, and needs enough vacuum for power disk brakes. My max street RPM will be around 6000. Both will idle around 750 -...

RPM or Stealth Intake with this combo?

dolfan87, Which AFR heads are you using? Which intake? How do you like the solid roller? What are the specs on the cam? Can you give me an idea of what your HP and torque numbers are? Sorry for all the questions, I am just trying to pick up some pointers from a person who has the same...

RPM or Stealth Intake with this combo?

So with that said, would using a Stealth intake on AFR 205's be a bad combination? Remember that I am not against the Vic Jr., I am just trying to use my shaker setup. The Vic Jr. would be too tall.

RPM or Stealth Intake with this combo?

ShannonW, Why are you using the AFR 205's if you don't plan on your usable power being around 6500 - 7000 RPM. Isn't that what the 205's are for, a high revving engine? I don't see using the 205's if you are not going to use atleast a Vic Jr. intake. Many people claim that the 205's actual...

RPM or Stealth Intake with this combo?

Should I run the RPM or Stealth with the combo listed below? I know that many people say to go with the Vic Jr. intake and AFR 205's with the 393 stroker but I want to use my shaker and it will be too tall. I also know that the RPM Air Gap is also a canidate but is also too tall. I know I...

Edelbrock RPM Intake with AFR 205's?

Bob, interesting thought. Is it enough for the shaker to fit?

Edelbrock RPM Intake with AFR 205's?

I will get me cam sized by Engine Masters after all my other parts are selected. They can plug the numbers and give me the best specs on a cam. I called Comp Cams and they said to use something in the neighborhood of 224/232 - 555/565 w/ 1.6 rockers. I am not worried if I don't use the 393 to...

Edelbrock RPM Intake with AFR 205's?

I think I am convinced to use the AFR 205's on my 393 stroker. I need to use the RPM intake due to wanting to use a shaker. The RPM is shorter than the Air Gap and Vic. Jr. and will most likely have better street manners. Is the RPM okay to use on the 205's or will it choke the air flow in...

AFR 195's for a 393 Stroker?? Sort of Different.

I know I have wore you guys out on which AFR head to use for my 393 stroker, but I will throw in a new option. My question all along has been if I should use the AFR 185 or 205 cylinder head and which intake manifold, the Eldebrock RPM or Vic Jr. I found a company that does some work to the...
