I'm looking for a good shop to build a 5.0/331 stroker engine for my '65 fastback. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks, Tim

Panhard bar Options with Leaf Springs?

The Maier bar is superior to the bar in the OP's example. The longer the bar the less the arc in the travel of the oposing wheel. I run a bar similar to the Maier bar and it made the rear end much more predictable. Tim

Rear Seat Delete w/ Amp rack, Tool box holder

I don't understand your point. So is it a race car, a show car or a truck? Tim

Haha, yea someone was asking if I could find these two threads for them. I really haven't been on the boards as much lately either. Your car is looking sweet!!! I think mine is still progressing too!! Tim

    65-66 rear sway bars

Not needed for the track either. I removed mine, it caused unpredictable oversteer. But I like softer rate springs in the rear, let the suspension move. My suggestion is subframe connectors, performance rate 4-leaf mid-eye rear leafs, Edelbrock IAS shocks and a panhard bar. Tim

    GT 40 Head conversion

What about the water passages? Do I need to do anything to align the water passages? I thought this was a direct swap onto an early model 289/302. Thanks, Tim

    GT 40 Head conversion

The 351 heads I'm removing, arnt' the early heads, so hopefully I am gaining something with the GT-40 heads and 1.7 full roller rockers. I'm installing them on a '68 302 block - do I still need to drill out any water passages? Can anyone point me to a link that can explain exactly what I...

    GT 40 Head conversion

I picked up some GT-40 heads (not 40p heads) off of Craigs List and just want to make sure that I don't slip up any where. I'm going to pull my 351 heads and install the new heads. I, also, picked up some Crane 1.7 Roller Rockers, pedestal mount. I got a gasket set for a '68 302 from...

    what kind of oil?

The Search function doesn't recognise words under four characters long. So "Oil" won't return any results, but "ZDDP" will find a good selection of threads. Tim

    Help with coil springs!!! PLEASE!!

DO NOT let the alignment shop align your car to the factory specifications! The original stock alignment setting for '64 - '66 Mustangs are: Caster: -0.5* Camber: -0.5* Toe-In: 9/32" The Performance alignment settings for the "Shelby" drop are: Caster: +1.5° to +2.5° Camber: 0...

    Help with coil springs!!! PLEASE!!

I have Global West UCA's with their recommended drop and 1" lower 620 springs. When I initially installed them, my ride height was also higher then what I wanted. I had to remove the springs and cut 1/4 of a coil at a time, then reinstall until I had the ride height that I wanted. I ended up...

Can you replace the MC push rod w/o removing the MC?

Thanks, I actually did it this afternoon; it was a pretty easy project. The hardest part was getting the Stop Light Switch postioned and installed along with the push rod. Thanks, Tim

Can you replace the MC push rod w/o removing the MC?

Is there a way to replace the Master Cylinder push rod without removing the Master Cylinder? I just put in a new MC, but there is some play in the brake pedal. I want to install an adjustable push rod, but don't want to remove the MC again if I don't have too. Thanks, Tim

Shelby Bullet Mirrors on a '65 Coupe???

I had the bullet style mirrors on my fastback. In order to make your vent window operable, you have to mount the bullet mirrors farther back on the door. This really limits their usefullness. I ended up taking them off and putting the stock mirrors back on. Tim

New Rims touching the upper A-arm.. what should I do?

I believe 17" X 8", American Racing Torq-Thrust M's come with 4.5" of backspacing, so that would be a good fit. Tim

ported Gt40 heads on a basically stock 302?

Nope, straight bolt on, nice upgrade. Just make sure they are true GT-40 heads, not the GT-40p heads. Tim
