    LONGTUBE QUESTION?

With the auto, you have three choices: Hooker, Kooks, and MAC. I went with Hooker and have been very satisfied. I purchased the ceramic coated headers for longevity and heat reduction in the engine bay.

How to get around 40 more engine HP?

With the mods listed below, my car dynoed at 250 rwhp. With a 20% power loss for the automatic transmission, that amounts to 312 bhp. Also, I love my 4.10s.

What do I need with my LT headers?

I have Hooker LT headers and matching o/r x-pipe. Do I need the O-2 extension or the M.I.L. eliminator? Or do I need both? My Diablo Predator allows me to turn off the O2 Sensor. Does this serve the same purpose?

Help me to complete my exhaust

Currently, I have Hooker LT headers and o/r x-pipe hooked up to my stock catback exhaust. Although the headers and x-pipe did increase the sound, I would still like a little more thunder from my exhaust but not too much. For catback exhausts, I've narrowed it down to Magnaflow ($345), Steeda...

I returned the Dragon plenum and purchased the Accufab plenum. There is no longer any whistling sound when I accelerate.

For those with AUTO and NEW Gears...

I put 4.10s in my 2001 automatic, and it really woke up the car. The acceleration from the line is incredible. I'd highly recommend the 4.10s.

Do I need MIL eliminators for o/r x-pipe?

I recently installed Hooker LT headers and matching o/r x-pipe. My "Service Engine Soon" light keeps coming on. I have the Diablo Predator so I am able to read the fault codes. The codes are PO136, PO141, PO156, PO161, and PO174. The first three codes appear to be connected with the O2...

What kind of results can I expect out of these 3 or 4 mods?????? **Advice needed**

You must have what they call a "factory freak." With all my mods below, I made 245 rwhp. If I had a 5 speed, it still would only have been 255 rwhp (4% difference in power loss from transmission).

    l/t + h pipe + ported heads

I gained 23 rwhp with Hooker LTs and o/r x-pipe. Most people who post their dyno sheets show at least 15 rwhp from the LTs alone.

    Break in period for LCAs?

If I ran the 1/4, the higher stall torque converter would be a good choice. With my daily driving, however, I worry that it will overheat even with a transmission cooler.

Im pretty much out of bolt ons now!!!

You and I are pretty much in the same boat, having exhausted all the bolt-ons. The decision now is whethter to stay n/a (heads and cams) or go with a power-adder (blower, nitrous). I've been comparing n/a with a Vortech SQ-trim supercharger. Both will cost $4000-4500 with installation. The...

    Break in period for LCAs?

Looks like your pretty well set up with bolt-ons. What's next? As far as the LCAs, I wonder if the car takes some time to settle with this addition to the suspension.

    Break in period for LCAs?

With my heavy vert and slowmatic, I've never had a problem with traction. When I installed LT headers and o/r x-pipe, I thought that the additional power might make it difficult to hook-up. So, I installed Steeda rear lower control arms. At first, the additional power made my rear tires spin...

From Upper Intake Plenum to Filter

Nice picture. I have the same set up, except my Accufab tb and plenum is 75 mm. I know that the 70 mm did better on an otherwise stock stang, but I was not planning on staying otherwise stock. I was really pleased with the C & L TrueFlow Pipe. It made a noticeable difference in acceleration...

    Bottlenecks in a stock GT

Last week I started a thread on stagnet entitled, "I gained 23 rwhp with LT headers." In the thread, I described how my automatic transmission limited my choice of headers: MAC, Hooker, or Kooks. I chose Hooker because they are well known for their quality. I decided to go with the ceramic...

    Bottlenecks in a stock GT

I agree, and the dyno tests are there to back it up. Short of major mods like heads and cams, we must rely upon bolt-ons to improve the performance of the Mustang. Although I have become convinced that the stock MAF is sufficient for a slightly modded 4.6, the same is not true for stock air...

    is it atually 260hp

Getting back to the question at hand: Does the 4.6 put out 260 hp? As already mentioned 260 is the horsepower at the crank, also known as bhp. From what I understand, the auto eats 20% of the horsepower from the crank, reducing the stock 4.6 from 260 bhp to 208 rwhp. The 5-speed is slightly...

Questioning the worth of long tubes

My intakes mods cost $620. With these, u/d pullies ($150) and a Diablo Predator ($400), I gained 24 rwhp. The total cost was $1170, which amounts to $49 per horse. I then added Hooker headers ($700) and an o/r x-pipe ($135), and gained an additional 23 rwhp. The total cost was $835, which...
