    Another vote for the 5.0. The modular aftermarket has a lot to offer, but I still think its gonna be cheaper w/the 5.0. Plus, they are easy to work on. As far as gas mileage, I don't know if the 4.6 gets a better mpg, although ever since my head swap and injectors, my car guzzles gas.

    Problems putting in distributor

    I don't know about the oil pump shaft, but my motor is out of my old 87 gt, didn't have anyproblems with the distributor (95). Maybe investigate more on that shaft.:shrug:
