    Horrible Engine Noise

I don't think so. The oil pump is a gear pump. Typically they either work, or puke their guts. Rod knock doesn't usually quiet down, so that doesn't sound like the issue. I do agree that this is a 100% warranty issue.

My NEWER and FINAL dyno numbers by T&J Performance (469RWHP 421RWTQ)

Great numbers. I saw your car last Saturday idling in front of the shop roll-up door, and it sounded drop dead sexy. Glad it is running the way you want.

    COLD AIR KIT=HOTAIR KIT

This is an excerpt from an old post I made here and on the Corral. I dug it up by 'Searching'. I love that tool.

    Ram Air.................

That March kit should also work on 99+. It was a pretty generic kit. That having been said, it is also a waste of time and money.

Last straw: DON'T GET YOUR WORK DONE HERE!

    Another vote for T&J.

How much $$$??? Full exhaust headers +??

I just paid this tab three days ago. ~$500 for BBK ceramic coated headers ~$200 for Dr. Gas X pipe ~$500 for install I kept the factory tailpipes and mufflers because I don't believe they are a bottleneck and I wanted to keep the interior noise down.

Got my 1st Cobra, have questions.

Sounds like the car is underdamped. Congrats on the purchase. That particular car is near and dear to my heart. If you are really interested in improving the ride quality and spending some money on better components, you need to identify what exactly was done to lower the car. Cut stock...

Is it possible for T&J to come through again???

I heard, since we talked about your car. Rhonda said that Tim was going to have you do the BAS install by yourself, but that you could only use a Swiss Army Knife and the directions that she sent you. That's a funny and good crew of people there.

Is it possible for T&J to come through again???

Car is back. Car sounds good. Car pulls like never before. I like it. Andy did a great job spinning wrenches and getting this thing back together. As expected, the rearend was FUBAR and all-new bearings really got things spinning freely. The pinion races were chewed from an improper setup...

Questioning the worth of long tubes

I'm picking up my car tomorrow from a LT header install. The headers, X-pipe, and tune were worth about 30 rwhp.

Is it possible for T&J to come through again???

Well, I'm looking forward to get my 98 Cobra back from T&J this weekend. I mentioned a while back that I was looking for some help, and I wound up in Alpharetta. The excuse I needed was that I had some rear-end noise and I figured I needed a set of bearings in the rear. I don't have the tools to...

    98 Cobra fuel pump question

Walbro does not make a 98-specific pump. The modification is not that bad, its ground that has been covered long ago.

    Timing Ajuster ????

I've got one for sale. PM me if interested. Its an easy-to-install mod that works. I've got dyno sheets to go with it.

    looking into a 98 Cobra.

Not for that year. Sometimes the butterfly system that opens the secondary intake ports will crap out, but that was not as big of an issue in 98 due to a revised system. Those motors are pretty solid. Take it from an owner. Just make sure the car is as close to stock as possible. A car that...

What Happens If Clutch Packs Go Bad?

The result is the 'One Wheel Peel'. The clutches are what lock the axles together. If they go bad, your limited slip differential becomes an open differential. No damage to the car, just a loss of available traction in some driving conditions. Given dealer labor rates I would bet $500 repair...

Looking at KB for a 98 Cobra..Any Info?

desant, there is no real defense for the design flaws in the 96-98 kit. A KB kit for a GT will make more power than a 96-98 Cobra kit. Given the inherent advantages of the 4V motor, this can only mean a compromised design. Now, if you aren't a dyno whore and don't care about peak numbers, the...

Looking at KB for a 98 Cobra..Any Info?

The above assessment is about right. The KB kit for the 96-98 Cobra is NOT a well-engineered one like the 2V kit is. The plenum for the intake is too small, and the turbulent flow kills power potential. I've seen Kobras run in the 420 rwhp range, but thats with a hot intake charge (no...

    Steeda pullies

Gotcha. Step 1 would be to put the rear wheels on the ground, drop the transmission into 5th, and seeing if that amount of friction in the drivetrain prevents the motor from turning. Step 2 would be bolting a piece of scrap metal (a 12-18 inch piece of flatbar works) to the pulley using two of...
