Running a 5.0L with no VSS

That is still too many for me. Call me anal but I prefer to have my vehicles running with no hiccups. I will follow Jrichker's advice and check them out.

Running a 5.0L with no VSS

Swapping 5.0L from Mustang into older hot rod pickup, motor will either be MAF or converted to MAF. I've read that the motor could possibly stall when coming to a stop if the VSS is not hooked up. Truck will be running a Ford toploader which doesn't have a VSS. Any source for...

so whos all running the infamous afr 165s on stock shortblock?

I do not have any technical experience with them. But I would like to give you an english lesson :). Infamous means to have an exceedingly bad reputation, where famous can mean more positively. Just thought you should know. :) Dustin.

    H/C swap, now BAD misfiring

That ticking may be as simple as the sparking of a plug wire not on all the way. That would also cause the misfire.

    Sprint Lowering Springs

The car I may be purchasing has 68 000 km or a little over 40 000 miles. I don't think the bushings will need to be replaced yet. I do I have a question though. At what point would C/C plates be useful? It is obvious that a 2 inch drop would probably need them, but what if I went with H&R or...

    Sprint Lowering Springs

Just curious? Did you get an alignment afterwards? I have had many friends with FMS B springs with no C/C's and they don't have tire wear issues. Another question I have is does someone make drop spindles for the 79 - 93 mustangs? That would give me the stance I want without the severe...

    Sprint Lowering Springs

I figured this was technical enough to qualify for tech. I have been researching lowering springs and really want a low stance. The lowest I have found is these Sprint Lowering Springs that lower 2 inches in the front and rear. Eibach is another consideration, but does not lower as much. I am...

    What Heads are These?

185's had 2.02 intakes. The 1.94/160 are the same size as AFR 165's.

Been doing so much research i managed to confuse myself

The stock 5.0L block can handle 450 hp before you start playing russion roulette (spl?). The Trick flow H/C/I set up will get you to about 350 hp (flywheel) and 375 torque. A healthy engine is one with decent compression (anything above 135 would be my limit) and be very similar across the board...

Been doing so much research i managed to confuse myself

one word... Trickflow... They have awesome packages (street and track H/C/I) that will pretty much guarantee 300 RWHP on a healthy engine. I am planning to do this in the next year with my truck.

Stupid question, but which way should i turn the dizzy to advance/retard the timing?

and if you ever forget, usually when you retard the timing, the idle will decrease. I know that works for carbed engines. (Perhaps the computer adjusts itself?)
