Possibly making a quick turn around.... :)

Yeah, I agree. It would be a great second car. Their handling is pretty amazing. I may have a stroke of luck. My mom's looking to get a car for herself sometime soon, and she may want my Mazda. If so, then I'll be looking at a GT and a GTO. I can get a better deal on a GTO, so I'm...

Possibly making a quick turn around.... :)

No problem. Sorry if I was unclear at first. I do agree, life is too short, so if I can pull it off somehow I'd love to. If not, I won't die over it, but I'd be a little less happy with the ride for a while. I put myself in that situation though, so I asked for it. :bang: Turboscrew, I...

Possibly making a quick turn around.... :)

I went to kbb and edmunds, and they don't list '06 cars yet. Either that or I overlooked it. TurboScrew new the answer, and he's one of us. He did what I did, and hopefully at some point I can end up like him now as well. :nice: A Mazda6 isn't American Muscle. Made in America and under...

Possibly making a quick turn around.... :)

Yeah. Practicality sucks! :D I probably will learn to like it and just pay off the Mazda in the biggest chunks I can. It's not a bad car at all, just different. It actually handles way better than the '03 GT I had with Ford Racing C springs. It has a lot more body roll obviously, but yet...

Possibly making a quick turn around.... :)

Trading in a new car if I don't like it - how ruined $$$ will I be? Ok, so I made a mistake (maybe) of buying a Mazda6 and trading in my '03 GT. But, there were things about the GT I didn't like (auto, auto... auto?) Anyway, I thought I'd go with something new that got good gas mileage...

    Can DIABLO read existing tune?

I'm pretty sure you'd have to have it reflashed to stock before you can use the predator tuner with it. Usually, the tuner will error out when reading a tune that isn't stock. It's dangerous to use the tuner with a car that isn't stock (if it were not to error when making the original...

    Aluminum drive shaft & 4:10's

I have 4.10, and I notice a slight wine... well come to think of it, I don't notice the whine anymore. Either it went away, or I just don't "hear" it anymore. If I remember right, I usually would hear it around 55-65, somewhere in that range. It was VERY slight though. The guy that did the...

How long do your tires generally last you?

I had Kumho on mine. Went about 20k, and I forgot to rotate half the time. Then, I went off the road because my tires were too slick. I should've changed them sooner! Always go with good tires.

    Will I regret??

I kinda regret it, but that's just because I don't like the way the auto's transmission shifts. The gear's effect is wonderful. :)

Idle in neutral and drive - why are they different? Auto trans

Well, I don't know about that, because I can lower the neutral RPM to 500, and it won't stall. I've experimented with lower and higher RPMs, so I know how the car acts in these ranges. The reason I'm messing with it at all is because the car occasionally acts like it wants to die right...

Idle in neutral and drive - why are they different? Auto trans

Yeah. The computer sees what the mechanicl stuff is doing, then adjusts everything to what it's programmed as being the "best" settings. I agree with jstreet0204. I think they set it that way so the car doesn't creep too much. That makes sense to me, because neutral doesn't care what it's...

Idle in neutral and drive - why are they different? Auto trans

I'm not saying that load isn't being put on the car in D. My question is: Why is the computer programmed to hold "D" idle at 560 and "N" idle at 760? Those numbers aren't exact, but close. At least they similar to what mine was set to. I know if you put a car in "D" it puts load on it...

Idle in neutral and drive - why are they different? Auto trans

Yeah, to waste gas. Because the car sounds better, and idles smoother. That's why.

Idle in neutral and drive - why are they different? Auto trans

That's what I mean. Why is it programmed like that? If I program it to 800-800, then it will stay at 800.

Idle in neutral and drive - why are they different? Auto trans

I understand what you're saying, but what I mean is, the car is actually programmed to run fewer RPMs in "D" than in "N". That's the part I don't get. I can program both "D" and "N" to 800 RPM, and it'll stay there, no matter which one I'm in. I'm just wondering if there is a reason the...

Hammer or Hurst auto Shifter for 2003 GT auto?

Thanks! That looks pretty cool. Did the shifter you bought with yours come with a big plastic base? I assume you just don't use that, because yours looks good in the stock casing. I bought one, but didn't think it would work, and returned it. Maybe it would have worked after all.

Hammer or Hurst auto Shifter for 2003 GT auto?

Does anyone know if there is a shifter available for a 2003 GT auto? If so, how do they work exactly? Is the care dependent on that mode of shifting from then on after the install, or can it still be placed in Drive and driven normally, but put into a "manual shift" mode by notching the...
