Weekend mods, will I be sorry?

Keep the UD pullies, when I did that install I could actually feel the difference. I would wait to do the intake until you do the H/C or if that won't be for a long time you can go ahead and throw it on.

    i'm fearing the gear......reassurance needed

For the record I run 3:55s in my car, when I got the gears it was a daily driver, now its not but I am still sticking with the 3:55s.

Thanks jricher, you always have a very good, detailed answer to most problems.

    i'm fearing the gear......reassurance needed

I know a guy with AFR 185s on a 302 and 4:30s in the back, that car is his daily driver. He can beat stock and slighty modded Auto LS1's all day. As long as the car isn't a daily driver I think you'll love the 3.90s.

    Back-fire through intake

Thanks Hissing Cobra. I keep telling my uncle to swap in a roller cam and lifters and get rid of the flat tappet one, this would be a good reason for him to do it this weekend. Keep the ideas coming, I'm making a check list.

    Back-fire through intake

oops........didn't see your post Ironman. Well if its lean then I'll check the pressure tomorrow and I'll also get another computer, my uncle thought the 8GL was an AOD computer. Yeah it is mass air. It also seemed to run better when the timing was retarded more than when it was advanced.

    Back-fire through intake

I also tried advancing and retarding the timing but that did not help. It has the stock regulator but a fuel pump that flows better than a stock 5.0's (77 or 85 lph something like that). The next thing I will try will be to check the fuel pressure and maybe take the adj. regulator off my car...

    Back-fire through intake

First off the car is a 65 Galaxy but with a EFI 5.0/AOD swap out of a 91 GT. Well atleast the harness and everything on the engine except the cam, it turned out to have the non-HO firing order so its not a roller. After doing the swap everything was fine except the car drives sluggish and back...

Has ANYONE found out the vibration prob?

Could be something as simple as loose driveshaft bolts, thats what it was for me.

    96-98 Maf on an 89

Thanks, thats what I was originally asking, I should have mentioned the Pro-M maf in the first post. I think I'm going to get the adapter pigtail so if I switch back to the other style maf sensor plug later then I won't have to cut the wiring again.

    now im really bummed

I hear all gears whine, only the ford racings ones don't. But even with the ford gears whine the higher numerically you go.

    96-98 Maf on an 89

I know how everything works, I'm just trying to save a little cash by getting the 96-98 maf because they are usually cheaper on ebay and I have the optmizer that matches it. I plan on running 36-42# injectors, actually it all really depends on which ones I find for the best deal first. I was...

    96-98 Maf on an 89

Well the reason I asked was that I came across a new Pro-M optimizer at a good price, the problem is that it is for the 96-98 mafs. I was hoping that I could use any Pro-M 96-98 mustang style meter, the optimizer and the pigtail adapter on my 89. I will be going with a s/c soon (6-8 psi) and...

GT40/GT40P head questions, worth it with my setup?

You can't go wrong with either set. I went back and forth for a while to and ended going with the best deal I found. I got a set of P heads. I have been real busy so I haven't been able to install them yet but I am putting new springs on before I install them.

    Cam Size??

There are better cams out there but the E cam has a nice sound to it and you should be fine since you have those 3:73s.

    96-98 Maf on an 89

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't calibrated for a different computer system like the LMAF is.

    96-98 Maf on an 89

Can I swap this onto my 89 GT (with the harness adapter, round to rectangle plug) or will I have to get a tune like I would with a Lightning MA?

    want to dump flowmasters

The Autozone by my house had the 2.5" female inlets turndowns but when I put them up to my muflers they were the same size. So I had my them welded on like that. I trimmed the ends though so it wouldn't be too long.
