    302 vs. temperature

So, is it common for a 302 with a weak battery and/or bad starter that you start it (cold), it cranks fine. Then you drove 5 miles, turn off the engine, start it again and it cranks real bad? you imply engine "resistance" should be the same when the engine is hot or cold?

    302 vs. temperature

I have a rebuild 302 that is a lot more difficult to turn at operating temperature than when cold. Is it normal for these engines? The battery is close to death. Just wondering if machining part was done right. oil pressure is around 40 lbs (cold) to 30 lbs (hot).

    wideband AFR vs. $30 gauge

AEM kit (AEM Power 30-5130 - AEM Power Analog Wideband Air/Fuel UEGO Gauge Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com) caught my eye too, with the price tag much lower than other sets yet with same or better quality, maybe with no data logging. Is it any different from 30-4100 other than the digital...

    wideband AFR vs. $30 gauge

WOT means at some 6K rpm? Can you also read NB gauge when main circuit kicks in i.e. at some 2500-3000 rpm to be able to set the floatsmaybe play with jets? (holley DP with mech. secondaries)

    wideband AFR vs. $30 gauge

I was about to get a regular air fuel gauge and regular o2 sensor hoping that it will give me enough info to set the correct air/fuel mixture. Autometer, sunpro makes them - cost 30-70 US. Some folks say that such gauge is useless and blinks all over the place = difficult (if not impossible)...

    Mig Weld - Wire Diameter?

day and night. I still have a roll of fluxcore rustying on the shelf that came with my 175 amp LE. Lincoln says you can fluxweld up to 1/2" thick metal. Yet I would not trust these welds. CO2 gas is the best way to go. The weld is nice, clean and firm.

    side mirror rivnuts spinning

Have any of you tried to fix these by compressing the rivnut with a regular 10-24 bolt and nut? Did it work or you ended up with a broken bolt inside the rivnut?

    Mig Weld - Wire Diameter?

weld looks bad due to impurities (rust, black oxide), maybe lack of gas, welding technique i.e. your hand is shaking. Not due to wire thickness. With low amps the weld penetration thus its strength improves with thinner wire.

67 electrical-trying to start kills battery

Check if you have 13.7+ v at the battery with the engine is running. Then it is charging. IMO 99% chance it will be old battery. If you are sorry to send her to heaven use a regulator with higher voltage like 14.5v at least, it may last another year.

    reusing lower control arm

Hello all, lower ball joint is gone and I want to make a reusable lower arm, similarly as the upper arm is designed. Wondering is there any separate lower ball joint available for v8 spindle? Is the end rod trapezoid the same as the upper one? Thanks for any advice
